I hear everyday from Christians that God is Almighty and Fair. Is He fair when he decided to give His "children" in Africa Malaria, AIDS, and all forms of deadly illnesses even before they were born? Is it fair of Him that He let His "children" in Vietnam be born with no father, and the mother dying right after giving birth, making the child an orphan? Is it fair of him to wipe out HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE in Indonesia and the other South Asian countries just to prove his Might and for people to give him Glory?

I just want to remind everyone that I am not a "religion basher." I respect every and all religion because obviously, just as there and good and bad people, there and good and bad things in religion as well. I just have some questions i need answers from, because I dont want the usual," Because its God's Will" or, "You just have to believe more, you dont have enough Faith."

Yes, fairly nonexistent. What you're asking for is a theodicy. A theodicy is a 'vindication of God's goodness and justice in the face of the existence of evil.' There is no satisfying answer to your question because there is no theodicy that works, not even the popular "free will" one.

God is supposed to be all powerful and all knowing. This means he could have created a world with absolutely no evil, suffering, pain, or harm whatsoever. Because suffering obviously exists, we can come to one of the following conclusions:

1. God is evil/immoral/doesn't care
2. God doesn't exist
3. God does not have the power to stop evil (which means he's not god, which means god doesn't exist)

“Either God wants to abolish evil, and cannot; or he can, but does not want to... If he wants to, but cannot, he is impotent. If he can, but does not want to, he is wicked... If, as they say, God can abolish evil, and God really wants to do it, why is there evil in the world?”

I think we all have a jaded view of God... It (GOD) is fair in that there is a universal law that is intertwined and above everything. It is the same law that makes the solar systems functions for eons, the same that allows the earth to sustain life (for if it were 2 miles further or closer to the sun, it couldn´t sustain us). Also in the fact that nature is consistant and perfect, as long as humans don´t interfere. I believe GOD gave us free will... so in essence we screw ourselves and others too, that is why the world is shitty... we make it that way. Besides why only name human loss. Think of all the forests wiped out because of us... is that fair? Or think of the earth we inhabit, is it fair we cause extinction to 182 species per day, or that we destroy our ozone, or that we are making it uninhabitable? We have a choice... we are not innocent bystanders. The children in Vietnam, orphans, Africa, HUMANS caused it NOT GOD... Would your father be fair to step in and control your life when u screw up? God won't step in either, cause we were all given FREE WILL. WE cause our own misery.

Fair means free from bias, dishonesty, or injustice. Fair does not mean that we will get everything we ask for or that we will never know suffering.

So, yes, God is absolutely fair. Black or white, man or woman, rich or poor - God does not discriminate; he offers salvation to all who accept it. He is honest in that He is true to His word (He NEVER promised we would not experience suffering in this life, by the way. In fact, He said we would). And He is just in that He punishes transgressors of His law.

Disease and suffering are not easy things to accept, and we are often left asking "Why?"

I've learned that when I don't know the details of the Why, I can always trust in the Who. I can always trust God, even when I don't understand why He allows certain things to happen to those we love. One thing to keep in mind though is that the time we spend in this life is but a breath compared to eternity. In Heaven, there will be no disease or suffering.

Is it fair to us who have to live long enough to be accountable and be deserving of death? At least the young children who die don't suffer as long as the rest of us.

Hey Jack B.
God could have created a perfect world without free will, but He chose to make it fun for us instead. We chose to screw it up. Oh and He will stop all evil...try skipping ahead to the end of the book to read that part.

You keep mixing organized religion and God.

If 900 fanatical believers choose suicide in the jungle on the word of a preacher, is this the fault of God?

If a Catholic Dictator chooses to burn millions of people alive in ovens, is this the fault of God?

Human beings, specifically people who raise themselves up as leaders, as prophets- are responsible for the hell of the world, not God!

If only people would see some of the incredible wisdom that God continues to try and teach us:

Free will means that everyone has the right to blind themselves and to stuff their ears with wool...

Nothing is fair in this world. The moment we are born in this world, there is nothing that is fair.

If you believe in Jesus, he was treated unfairly as well. He was not suppose to die for us, but he did. Was that fair? Nope.

The is no aids years back. It is human that spead the Aids. Naturer digaster, it is also human that created it due to global warming.

Is it fair for him to be judged by someone who doesn't even know his word. He doesn't make things happen, everything happens because this world is crap. People make it what it is, they have there own will. God turns all bad into good in the end. Do not be blind as this world is see his view.

Yes, God is fair. You are mistaken in attributing diseases to God. Nope, not from Satan either. It's all cause and effect. That which you sow, so shall you reap. No one is innocent and everyone is accountable for their actions (karma).

God is fair.
