I try to practice something like this. I believe in Jesus' words (not the book of John b/c he wasn't alive in Jesus' lifetime), and I'm doubtful about the trinity. I pray and meditate (Theravadin cultivation of loving kindness and the establishment of mindfulness) daily. I believe in the Creator God of Judaism, Christianity, & Islam, but I most closely identify with Christianity (Jesus is my prophet of choice). Yet, I think the Buddha's teachings accurately describe the universe. It appears to me that everything that has a beginning has an end and that impermanence, lack of substantial soul or self, and suffering, or lack of ease, permeate the universe. I know it appears contradictory to try to puts these both in practice, but who am I to say that I know, without a doubt, how the universe works? Does any person really? Good luck in your search.

Buddhism is not a religion. It is entirely possible to practice it alongside Christianity or most other religions. All it takes is an open mind and a kind heart. The common ground is with the fundamentals of most religions, which like Buddhism have to do with living a kind, ethical and moral life (although many religions develop bureaucracies, which want power, which leads to corruption and eventual perversion of the religion to where even such extremes as killing somehow move from "absolutely forbidden" to "acceptable means to an end." whole 'nother topic there.)

I know Christian Buddhists, Pagan Buddhists, Wiccan Buddhists . . . it's all good as long as your motivations are love and compassion.

opposite to what some human beings say, Buddhism is a faith, not basically a existence-style. Christians and Jews can incorporate Buddhist teachings all they prefer (that's thoroughly ok), yet you will convert to Buddhism to boot. the optimum custom is to take shelter interior the three Treasures: a million) I take shelter interior the Buddha 2) I take shelter interior the Dharma (the training of the Buddha) 3) I take shelter interior the Sangha (the Buddhist community) you're able to do this via your self, in front of a picture, or clergy. in case you want to benefit greater approximately Buddhism, I rather recommend "What the Buddha Taught" Walpola Rahula. however the final thank you to benefit approximately Buddhism is to easily bypass to a close-by temple and see how issues artwork. I switched over some years in the past, and it grew to become into the final selection I ever made. good success!

Why does it need a name?

Some scholars actually believe that in the ages the Bible doesn't teach about Jesus that he was lead to Asia and learned their ways.

Jesus' teachings strinke a remarkable similarity with Buddhism and at the same time keep within Judaism.
There are also stories of a man in a region of Asia, who walked on water and healed people.
His tomb is marked with the outline of a man that has holes in both feet and both hands.
And the hole in one foot is higher than in the other, which happens with crucifiction.

Its a remarkable story if its only a coincidence.

You could argue that Christianity-Buddhism is the truth Christianity,, which after all means "to be like the Christ".

the basic moral values and principles in both religions are similar...

the difference is Buddhism leaves out the supernatural belief part...and therefore is more realistic and promotes openness of mind.

God has told to obey without questioning
Lord Buddha said u don't have to accept even what he has preached merely BECAUSE he preached so...believe what makes sense

u can be a good buddhist by living a moral and ethical life.but u can't be a christian (good or otherwise) if u don't believe in God.

Buddhism vs. Christianity
Please read the book the Lotus and the Cross, by Ravi Zacharias.

They are fundamentally opposing viewpoints.

Buddhism and Christianity can actually have a lot in common. Read Thich Naht Hahn's "Living Buddha, Living Christ."

All religions are door to happiness. Most of the religions has the same moral discipline: not killing, not stealing, not lying, ...
There are so many different people. And so there are different religions. Each person has to find the door which is most suitable to him or her to find spiritual development and to bring more peace, love and happiness to the people who are surrounding him or her.

Just sing the song "Ebony and Ivory". It'll amount to about the same thing.
