I need a leave-in or washout product; not an after shampoo spray..my 3 year old daughter has very long, thick hair, and it gets so tangled, I just don't know what to do anymore. I have tried many things, and have pretty much given up on the after-shampoo sprays...PLEASE if any parents have a product to recommend, I and my daughter will be so grateful. It does not have to be a kid's conditioner.

I have the same problem, and I've determined that those "all-in-one" kid shampoos don't have a strong enough conditioner. I like the Suave Kids conditioner.....if that's not strong enough, you may have to go to an adult one. A good inexpensive one is Aussie Moist (purple bottle). You'll just have to be really careful rinsing with an adult one (cause it will sting the eyes!). I have had thick, unruly hair my whole life, and those leave-ins never helped my mom either. :)

Aussie 3-minute miracle isn't bad, but my ten year-old who has long, straight, thick hair and my 8 year-old who has long, curly hair like the Pantene Full & Thick much better. Picks, brushes, & combs (wide-toothed) just glide effortlessly through their hair. Leave the stuff on for 5 minutes before rinsing. The stuff was a godsend to my poor girls. Their hair is down to their behinds so I know what I'm talking about! Smells great, too!

We don't even have to use a pick. It's that effortless. Does sting eyes so be careful!

The best conditioner I have found are the ones that come with permanent hair color. They are small tubes, but sometimes I buy them just to take the conditioner out. They seemed to be very strong and I try to use one about once a week. It keeps my hair so soft and manageable.

I have long natural curly hair, and I have used Infusium 23 for years, it really helps. I put the leave in conditioner in a spray bottle and use alot. it controls your hair too.

Infusium 23 has a great leave in after shampoo conditioner I find works great on my waist length hair. No tangles, no frizz. I get it at wal-mart.

As a child I had really long and thick hair. My mother used to buy a V05 tube that resembled a little toothpaste tube. It worked really well. You just needed a little bit and it would work through everything. I've noticed that any V05 detangling condition really does a good job.

I love Aussie 3 minute miracle.

BUT, to ease the tangles out, use a hair pick before you do any brushing. If you start at the bottom and work your way up with the pick, you'll be amazed at how much easier the job becomes.

Good luck.

Have you tried applying conditioner, combing out her hair w/ a wide toothed comb & then rinsing out her hair gently?

After rinsing, just squeeze out the water & press her hair w/ a super absorbant hair towel.

I have thick hair & find a hand held shower helps me to rinse my hair thoroughly w/o having it get tangled after combing it out.
