Yes - artificial weight loss programs are useless because once you're off of them, the pounds get back on. That doesn't mean no hope... continue to excercise and eat a balanced diet.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

The #1 thing I would swear by is WATER - drink at least 8 glasses a day and more if you can.
The usual, healthy eating and exercise are the obvious suggestions.
I joined sparkpeople.com and have found a great community. People are supportive, you can find the answer to anything (health/motivation related), and the site even set up a fitness/nutrition plan for me. I learned about the importance of stretching and many easy to do exercises. I suggest you check it out. Say hi if you do. Take care : )!!

ok first of all you sound health/ thin to me. you probably don't need to loss any weight but i can help. so u say u exercise daily that's good but don't over do it. you should drink a lot of water i've lost weight and it was just all my water weight. (your body stores water and when it know you refreshing the water regularly it doesn't store as much.) you should also eat small healthy portions for each main meal. (about the size of your fist is good.) but also eat after exercising you done want to loss all you energy by exercising and not eating. balance it. basically fruit and veg. here's some other healthy choices- yogurt, celery, small portion of nuts, fish (good brain food) bananas (good before exercising, prevents cramps)

I keep having to paste this but this diet truly works for me. If you are really interested in losing weight then this is the one that works fast.
Search the web for 'cabbage soup diet'. There are a few variations. It works, I know because I use it every now and again. (And have been for many years) Mainly after Christmas. And don't worry, you don't ONLY eat cabbage. You lose 5kg+ in one week. (+- 11 lbs) but obviously only if you follow it strictly! (And drink lots of water!) Exercise regularly to increase weight-loss.
After that, evaluate your eating/exercise habits and make consequent changes if you don't want to gain it back.
Good Luck

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

Eat what you want but in small portions. Fill up on fruits and vegetables. Try to eat foods high in fiber. Drink lots of water. Easier said than done, huh?
