Did you know that spell = a prayer?

What do you do when you pray?
You focus your attention to God, and request things, right?

Do you know what you do when you spell craft?
You focus your attention to the universe ("God") and request things in return....although there are different elements used like candles (which are in churches), incense (which are in churches), even imagery! (which are in churches).

So tell me something.
After reading what I just said...how you can disagree with that?
Have you been paying too much attention to The Wizard of Oz, The Craft, or Charmed?
I suggest you do some reading instead of relying what you hear on T.V.
A spell is nothing more than a different form of prayer.

You can do a spell for just thanking the divine.

Like I said...a spell is a form of prayer.
There are one in the same.

If you disagree, then I pity your incompetence.

Actually, as I was taught magic there's a significant difference between a spell and a prayer.

A prayer is a request to a Deity to lend help or aid.

A spell is consciously "laying your hands" on the energies of the universe and setting them in motion to cause change.

To use an analogy: prayer is asking God/ddess to open the door, a spell is opening the door yourself. ;-)

I can disagree with that after reading what you just wrote (actually,) because much of it is flawed. I.E.;
1. Where do you think the Christian Church got the idea to use candles, incense & imagery? Hint; try reading some NON-fiction once in a while.
2. If "God" = "the Universe," does that mean that he will also collapse into a nearly infinitismal point in the future, too?
Please note; I am not Wiccan.

prayers are where you make a request to god god's will be done that is not a spell a spell is where the person gets the idea that they can make things happen with prayer we know it is god who makes things happen spells do not equal or come close to prayer god is stronger than any spell

It's just that God, IF the Bible is true, wants that kind of attention. And He also doesn't want that kind of attention paid to other things. And it's very clear if you read the Bible.

And what if I am not asking for anything? Like I'm just talkng to Him. Are you still going to say I'm casting spells? If so, then Wouldn't I be casting a spell now merely by typing this message to you?

I am a christian, a true christian at that and I do not use candles while praying. I do not believe on the insense as well as I do not pray and worship images, a man made images because that is prohibited by my living God. This is my guide in praying:

Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Mat 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

This is for your enlightenment of your doubt about prayers.

A prayer and a spell are as different as night and day.
Prayer works.

It is the wrong form of prayer,it is praying to the earth which is not a entity and a goddess who does not exist. You are sugar coating denying God.
