i am thinking of buying Sony T20 or Panasonic FX50? Which is better?

Sony T20:

But, you should also check out cameras made by camera (not TV) companies:

I shot with Canons for years, and I tried a PowerShot similar to the one above. It's a nice little point-and-shoot, too. This one seems to be in your price range, considering the other cameras you mentioned.

I would buy a camera from a company known for their cameras and/or lenses. Canon, Nikon, Leica... even if it's just a point-and-shoot type of camera.
