Too hard to tell. There are soooo many factors involved here. But from my knowledge of nutrition, I think you need to rethink that diet plan. First, I don't think it's enough food. Your body needs calories just to run itself. When you deprive it of good food for energy, it actually slows down and you feel sluggish and actually gain more fat as your body stores rather than burns. If you like salad and eggs, maybe you should try some nutritional plans like the South Beach diet that focus on proteins and good carbohydrates. You will eat three meals a day plus snacks. It's not how much, but what you eat that really matters in the long run.

Just as an aside, thousand island dressing is probably the worst thing you could put on a salad. These high calorie and fatty dressings can make a salad into a Big Mac with just a serving. Try oil and vinegar. It tastes great and gives your body good fats.

Its hard to tell it differs from person to person, there are many different factors that can make a difference such as age, metabolisism etc. If you want to lose weight walking/running a mile everyday would certainly help you to lose weight and get you fitter, but the diet you have chosen doest look that great. Firstly thousand island dressing isent heathy at all if you are trying to lose weight you should try and avoid all sauces ketchup/mayonaise/dressings etc. Also salad although lacking in calories isent particularly nutricious if you just eat that it wont do your heath that much good even though you will be losing weight. Eating fruit and veg is much healthier than salad. If you did your diet excercise plan but cut out the thousand island dressing i would imagine you would lose weight quite quickly. But you would not only lose fat but muscle, the best way to lose weight is gradually over a period of time. Trying to lose weight as fast as possible will affect your health and you probably wont get the results you are hoping for.

3500 calories = 1 lbs of fat on your body. That means if you burn 2000 calories in a day -- which is an average for an adult -- but you eat 5500 calories, you will have an extra pound of fat on your body.

Generally it happens more slowly than that. Let's say you eat the exact amount of calories that your body needs everyday, you won't gain or lose any weight. Then you start drinking a can of Pepsi everyday on top of what you already eat. That's an extra 150 calories. 3500 divided by 150 = 23. So every 23 days you will gain a pound.

That's why people count calories. There are calculators online where you can enter your body weight and what activity you're doing (like walking a mile) and it will tell you how many calories you're going to burn. Then you can also look up the caloric content of the various foods that you're eating and do that math.

or just sell your car and go ride your bike everywhere, you won't have to think about it any more.
