Yep, like others have said, Novara is the REI house brand.

Just a FYI, REI is hella expensive. I'd probably stick with another name brand bike (Trek, Specialized, etc...) so you can do some price shopping and get the best deal. With Novara you pay whatever REI charges and don't have a comparison.

If you do buy the bike at REI, don't buy any biking accessories there. Even closeout prices at REI are higher than retail. Look for a Performance Bike shop...they tend to have the best prices. www.performancebike.com will let you do a store search.

I.E. Clif Energy bars are $1.40 @ REI and $.99 at the grocery store. Inner tube is $5 @ REI and $3 @ Performance.

I honestly don't know how REI stays in business, unless people from other sports shop there.

Novara is the outdoor retailer REI's house brand. They make decent bikes, and there are no real differences in frames other than the name on them; most are made by Giant in China anyway.

They are a real bicycle, not like Wal-Mart specials, and REI have trained bike people building and servicing them. If you like a Novara, then by all means go get it!

Novara bikes are sold exclusively by REI. They have some models that I would recommend for touring cyclists with specific features. However, for most models, I would suggest going to bike shop and looking at similar priced machines. You will get better service and probably a better bike in the long run.

Not bad, I would look at Giant or Trek before Novara. Considering they are the same price.
