Do some religions claim to have gained extra wisdom by dividing people into lower and upper categories on the basis of level of one's contribution in the total production of goods and services? The lower the contribution in total world production, the higher the level of one's category and the higher the contribution the lowest the category one stands at.

Earlier I had the impression that in past nothing could prevail without being approved by religion. The views ,however, reveal it the other way and keep religion free from bias, prejudices, discriminations of any sort. That suggest that religion was not patronaged by kings and rulers in past. Religion was above the ruler and the ruler was bound to follow religious principles rather than using religion as a vehicle to propagate ruler's intrests. Some people are of the opinion that casteism and varna system was the greatest wise contribution of religion to the socuety whereas some others are of the opinion that CASTEISM and VARNA SYSTEM is the most foolish creation of religion. Very few people would have nothing against casteism and varna system. Even those who are at the uppermost ladder of the casteist hierarchy are not satisfied with their position as they are no more intrested in unearned and dishonest means of livelyhood. They feel that Varna system assign top social ranks to.......

....ranks to those who's contribution to total national production is the least. The greater the total contribution in terms of productive labour the lower the social rank of a person. How much of it is correct, may , however, be known only after cross examination of divergent views in this regard.

One has to mingle with soil to extract some life supporting matter out of it. Stools when paased out of body makes anyone untouchable whereas when inside the body doesnot pollute the body. The concept of untouchability seems to explain much about one's hatred toward some people rather than based on higenic or unhygenic considerations. Most of the higenic about man may ultimately result in elimination of life on earth. It was easy to manipulate eatables and other necessities on the basis of mythical higiene based divisions but the same myth may ruin the present day generations. The wheat, the cotton, the sugarcane, maize and rice are untouchable in true sense as these grow on dung and night soil. Untouchability is certainly a concept propagated by poorly educated illiterate people in past.

No religion seems to come forward to assume responsibility for the prevailing prejudices, discriminations and social disparities on unethical and unnatural grounds. Who else could be responsibile for all the subhuman and humiliating condition of a very large number of people in the world?
Capn Edib's explaination and liberation of so many slaves on that account is really worth consideration and simuilarly others too mentioned a lot in support of their religions. Does it suggest that it is not the religion but the selfish intrest of the influential which tends to enslave religion for its promotion. How much time would it take to heal the wounds inflicted by misdoings and evil thinking during dark days of humanity?

Religion per se does not have any such intention. But believers have notions about themselves and a sense of superiority and a tendency, covert or overt, to denigrate others' faith. They have created differences among human beings in a subtle manner, although apparently they sound pedantic and impartial and lofty.

I guess you must be reading some Anthropology book like I am. Since you use alot of words and concepts thats in the book!
Anyway, I know most atheist think religion is the boogie man, and perhaps in away your right.
Really that doesn't matter cause wheather you want it or not, no matter how many spells you cast, times are a chaning. This is the last days of the human race period! There is nothing you can do to change that!
Why? Cause God( Jesus) gave us 6000 years to exist as mankind and acording to the Jewish calender there is roufly 150 years left, to Jewish year 6000!
Look around you for the first time in all of human existance we can acually kill our selves off, nuclear weapons, plauges and disease, overpoulation, worldwar, not enough resources and food to feed the world.
The worlds popualtion has surpassed already, what the world can withstand and recover from naturaly. The worlds population could easily double in the next 50-100 years, unless some mankind saviour come along and pulls our butts out of our stupidity adiction, the world will suffer horrible death.
I guess thats where Jesus comes back, Blessed Be!

There are many roads which leads to the Truth. Religions are like branches of tree and you have to climb on top to reach . All religions preach peace but do humans do ? No religions had said to kill or harm others but had people understood this concept ? No religions said that we are the best amongst other religions.
Humans have created division and subdivision within it. In Hinduism roles are given but with the passage of time the main reason behind the roles had vanished . Each person are taking it as per their own reasoning.
In Hinduism there are caste system. Hinduism is a practical religion.
In earlier times caste was not based on birth but was on occupation.
A person working as a cashier was termed as Vaniya caste even though by birth he may be shudra.
Caste was given so that people know what work is allocated to them.
Brahmin stands for teaching profession, doing worship in temple or others home .
Kshatriya stands for protection of the society. So Defence,Police etc came .
Vaniya stands for merchant class. Doing business.
Shudra stands for cleaning the society.

Each caste plays important role. So one can say that this is professional based caste. With the passage of time the selfish pandits made more worse for their benefits and the common persons got trapped.
Is there anyone who can really explain what is mentioned in the Puranas or other literatures of Hinduism ?
One will have to study in detail and with depth. No where it is mentioned that one has to behave badly with the Shudra People.
Lord Ram during his exile made friendship with the Tribal people and even accepted their gift - Paduka . They could make only this .
Lord Ram ate small fruits from the Shudra lady and that too she first tasted and then Lord Ram ate it.
It is only people who had divided it not any religions.

no religion does. it is just us humans who think we are better than others in all matters whether intelligence, civilisation, progress etc and also religion. ordinary humans may be too occupied with their daily lives but the so called guardians of religions differentiate between people.teaching that their religion is better.

god made us all the same inside though he gave different skin colour / language / ways of life depending upon the regions of the world as per the climatic conditions, but did not differentiate in the basic framework .

we are all the same our direction/aim is the same. it is only when we realise this do we become enlightened. these others are still in the dark and differentiate.

When and if a group of people try to establish the differences between human beings, it is not at all a religion.

This is pseudo religion which always dominates over real religion.

If you want to strongly negate and oppose this pseudo religion, you have study the real and pure religion.

Then you will be strong enough to fight back. Otherwise the religion in disguise will take over.

No i don't think of that faith grew to become into created interior the earth via guy to offset the worry of calamities. If we stepped forward as animals do the might desire to have motives or imagined supplies of calamities does not logically be a good or useful progression-and is a special characteristic of human beings not modern in the different species of existence in the international. Nor do i think of that that's been retained to maintain good cohesion with society, ethical, love, assisting tendency. If that have been the case then does not we've stepped forward it closer to suited over the years as a substitute of the worries in those aspects getting worse over human background?

Religous teaching is different from what the people do in the society . a large number of the chatholic priests in theUK and in the US were homosexuals and child molesters and other sexual offenders .do yu accept that christianity teaches the practices of homosexuality , child mol;estation and murder and sexual abuses as the priests in thechurch hemselves ar avid practitioners of such offences? I you cannot blame the religion for such opfences committed by the prioests , how do you blame the Hindu religion for the prcatice of untouchbility. People practiced it for reasons of hygein.Ther ar many people even to day evn aming he eduicatd lots who do not wash her hands afte rpassing urine .How do yu expect anyman with a sense of clenliness anf hygeing touch he hands of such persons ?Is it not simply idiotic to blame some persons who refuse to touch persons who are unclean. All religion create differences and use the policy of divide and rule. No religion exists for the good of humanity, but want to expand by conversion, and put illogical rules to keep the members trapped.
