I don't know where you get your ideas.
First, Christianity does not teach dualism. We do not need evil to know good, darkness to know light, death to know life, the devil to know God, or fear to know courage. Dualism is a component of Eastern religions.
Second, we are told in the Bible to fear not because God is with us. That means we shouldn't cower from life, worrying about this or that coming to get us.
Third, "fearing God" doesn't mean living in terror of Him, it means having respect for His awesome power. It's like working near 100,000 Volt power lines -you realize that it has the power to incinerate you if touch it but also the power to light up a town. You give it its proper respect and are careful to handle yourself appropriately when you are near the lines.

Yes, to be fearful is a sin. I can remember directly but it is in revelations 19 or 21. But it says, the cowardly, unbelieving, and fearful shall have their part in the lake of fire. I did not quote it word for word, but it's in one of those chapters. You can only have courage, because you are at peace with God, because in Him there is no fear. In 1 John it says, that perfect love casts out all fear. When you walk in God's love and fellowship with Him. It is His love and Holy Spirit abiding with you that will give you confidence in all situations. If you are intimate with God you can only be strengthened. 2 Tim 1:7 says, "For God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind".

I do not believe the Word of God says that fear is sin, but it does say that The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear. This means that if we belong to the Lord, we have nothing to fear as He is with us always. But, we do fear the Lord in a respectful way as He has ultimate control over everything and can do anything. He is all powerful, all knowing and nothing can stand against Him. "If God be for us, who can be against us?" God bless

To have fear is normal. However, the Bible calls us to not succumb to our fears where they control us, but to trust in God's provisions instead.
And God enables this. For example, in Joshua 1:9, we read, "...be strong & courageous, for the Lord your God is with you..."
Having an abiding sense of God's continual presence in one's life changes everything. That's how the Apostle Paul who was in deep sneakers w. threats from so many enemies was able to say, "...for to live is Christ & to die is gain..." Christians who have been reborn have the presence of God through the Holy Spirit alive in them...the Word of God is real & compelling, and they can face up to great challenges with the peace of knowing that even death is not to be feared. Death, the very worst thing that can happen only launches the Christian into God's presence, and ultimately, that's the best place to be!

There is nothing wrong with fear, its what we do while we are afraid that determines whether we are courageous or not.
