I am just wondering beause it seems like more people now a days are having kids so young!! I am only nineteen years old, and my husband is twenty two, and we have been married for about a year. So, we dont want to have kids yet for about at least two more years....I still need to finsish school! Anyways, I was thinking that by the time we actually give birth and have a baby he will probably be twenty five and I will be twenty two!!! Is that old?

It must just seem old because Im 19 right now, and my hubby is 22! I have a ton of friends who just graduated high school and are due to have babies right now! I just dont want to be old!! I always thought that people had babies when they were in their mid to late twenties, and even thirties!

No 25 isn't old at all. My father was 30 when I was born and my husband Joseph was 33 when our son was born(David is 9 mos),and we are planning on another baby in about 2 years. I have found that if the parents are older that they are more patient with their children.

No, it's not too old.

I had my first and only child so far when I was 27. I am very glad I waited until I was a little older to start a family.

For me, it was great to have some time to experience things, and do things that I wanted to do. Then, by the time I had my daughter, I was ready to settle down a bit. Plus, I think with age, you have a little bit more patience, your normally better off financially, etc.

my parrents were 29 (mom) and 28 when I was born, and they were great parrents. when your a little older you will be more settled, and hopefully more financially secure. These are great benifits when raising kids.
I'm 21, and am in NO rush to start having kids , like you I have to finish school, and intend on starting a career when I'm finished.
My parrents are now 50-49 and are raising my 7 year old nephew, and I think they're even better parrents now.

no it is not old. Its best that you two have your futures planned. most people having children at young ages are not able to support the child financially as well as they would have been able to if they would have waited a few years. so what you are doing is smart.....good for you! and i know lots of people older than that who do not have children yet. such as females 25 or older and males 27 and older. so 25 is a perfect age to start.

Really short, easy answer: NO!

Most of my guy friends were in their mid to late thirties, even forties, when they had their first children.

For you, 22 is young, but not too young, so don't fret. I was 33 when I had my first (and only) child.

no. I think people have babies older. In fact, if you look at statistics, 22 and 25 is younger than the average first time parent.

Not at all...
in my culture at least people start having babies after.. they're not babies themselves....
i think you need to be finacially stable.. with a carreer and way to support the child.. not just "feed" him/her...
((love the fact that you want to finish school before anything... good job... there ARE smart people in this world.. :-D )
