I had seen it on news, and was glad to see Vietnam vets providing support for the families, and knew there was some legislation to at least give the grieving some space. Anyone hear of protests in your area?

Thanks for answers. Did seem isolated to the Kansas "church". Pretty sick that they have kids participating.

Yes, the pseudo-Christian group run by that maniac Fred Phelps is the one leading the pack who protest at veterans funerals. They're certainly not Christians, although they try to fly that banner. Anyone who is Christian knows better than that.

The Patriot Guard Riders, a motorcycle group, stands against these idiots, and allows the funerals to be run smoothly and without disruption by this horrible group. They are certainly respectful of veterans, and their families, and should be praised for their efforts. And any veterans groups who do the same, should also be supported.

As a Christian, I'm ashamed to see that such groups exist that do such injustice and harm under the Christian banner. They certainly are not abiding by the Word of God. Although I do not condone homosexuals, I also do not ascribe to this groups doctrine that America is being punished because of homosexuality, neither are the soldiers who die in this war due to that reason also. It's a ludicrous ideal, and certainly does not go along with the Word of God. Those who live the homosexual lifestyle are accountable, on their own, to God. God does not strike down the righteous, for the actions of the unrighteous.

I have not. I hope they stopped. They were a very brave group, they sent women to protest the funerals:(
It was a family, but a huge family whose dad was a minister of some stupid church from Kansas. Thats what is raised in Kansas.

They are still allowed to, but most military funerals now have "honor guards" of veterans who line the roadways in and out to keep them from getting close enough to the funeral to be heard.
I went to one in West L.A. recently, and there were no protesters, so perhaps they have found some other platform.

Didn't know the anti-gay groups were protesting at vet funerals.

The only thing I remember is that crazy lady who would disrupt funerals because she felt her grief over her son dying in Iraq was more important than the family's grief who were burying their loved one.

As far as I know, it was only one group. Which was comprised of one family. They probably are still protesting, but since that's their only trick they don't get much media coverage.

As far as I know they are, and I think it's the worst thing anyone can do. Lord help me if anyone ever did that if something happened to my husband.... I think I would probably end up in jail.

Yes they are. They need arrested and neutered so we don't have to deal with their close-minded hypocrasy any more.
