Sometimes some people on this site claim to be against illegal immigration, but other days I've heard some say "Mexicans this..." or use the "b----rs" word. So now I'm not so sure what is they are really against!

I am not against legal immigration. Just illegal. But since this illegal immigration has gotten so far out of hand I would like to see a temporary halt to all immigration till they get fiasco figured out. They obviously have a severe problem with the whole system when they can't keep track of people or have any idea when visas expire or have people waiting decades for legal citizenship. Dumping more on an already broken system is stupid. They need to fix this first.
Color has nothing to do with it and people can learn English. Get out of your neighborhood and look around sometime. There's people legally here from all over the world and all different colors.

Umm... No, not against immigration. Because we're all immigrants. Now about the non-english speaking part I'm a little upset about it since the US, an english speaking country, is changing to accomodate them when it should be them adapting (with help of course with some sort of english class). Anytime my job options are limited because I can't speak another language; that's not fair. I could see if I were trying to be an interpreter or something of that sort.

I'm not against immigration at all but I am against illegal immigration. There are proper steps that one can go through to be here legally. They can be blue for all I care but need to do the same things that the rest of Americans do like pay taxes and such.

No, definitely not. What I'm against is our policy of open borders and unchecked illegal migrants who work "off the books" with bogus stolen Social Security numbers - nobody knows how many are here, what sort of communicable diseases they may be bringing in, most of them drive without insurance or valid drivers licenses (good luck if one hits you - hope you have uninsured motorist insurance) and yes, they do jobs that Americans *will* do, provided they're paid a decent wage. And no, this is not about race - intellectually dishonest race-baiters will try to cast it as that....
No, I'm not against legal immigration with it's checks, quotas, and steps you have to go through. All of those were put in place for a reason. To me it is an *insult* comparing these modern day illegals to my grandparents and great grandparents, who came here legally, became citizens, and assimilated into the American culture.

YES and NO. It's a hard one. While I hold good Christian values of helping everyone, at the same time, our country might not have as many homeless people if those jobs the immigrants have were given to the poor and needy people of this country instead. It's not like I'm trying to be racist, but the fact is we just CAN NOT take care of all the people we already have in this country. So WHY invite more?

no, immigration is good for our country to a certain extent. Lets face it our country wouldn't strive the way it does without immigration. But on the other hand to much immigration will cause our economy to drop which would not be good for working Americans...

I believe in more stringent immigration. I am against illegal immigration and stronger limits on legal immigration. I do resent your tone a bit, but I do acknowledge that there are some who are against immigration are racist as well. I'm not a hard liner like some here, and do admit the pro-immigration do have some points. I believe that the pro-immigration group falsely accuse people of racism. I believe in discrimination against immigration not by race or color, but by culture. I believe their are people who are incapable of living in American culture. For example, Some religion states that all members must forceably convert those who do not believe in their religion. They maybe a minority cult, but they do exist and have no business in America. I do believe giving preference to developed nations, because we know they are in most part compatable with US culture. I have a problem letting those from the third world, because corruption is common. We need to properly screen them to make sure that they understand the rules of living in America. I found that immigrants from third world nations are more likely to perpetrate some of the most heinous form of sexual harassment. I have seen serious problem letting immigrants in to take technical jobs in AMerica. I found a some have dubious college degrees and some of those who immigrated to the US tell me that some actually buy their college degrees and cheat on passing American board exams. What scares me is that a lot of these cheaters are working in our hospitals or making engine parts. Developed nations has better accreditation of their colleges . The UN stated that this kind of discrimination is acceptable. THe UN stated that when you enter a new nation, you must allter your culture towards your host nation. It is not wrong to ask all immigrants to become "American" when they enter our soil. I do believe in tolerance of other culture, but I believe these tolerance has its limits. I believe the resentment of American towards some immigrants is not totally unjustified. Its wrong to blame everyone in a group, but I do see a large percent in some immigrant group to follow basic law and rules. Sexual harrassment is the most blairing for me, but I've seen bullying and physical abuse that would be acceptable in their culture, but illegal in the US. Culture is the unwritten rule for a community to get along together. We need a single standard, and the standard is based on the host nation. it is RACIST for an immigrant group to force their culture onto the host. By forcing their beliefs over ours, is stating that their culture is better than ours.

I dont like it when people cross the border the wrong way and expect America just to hand them a wonderful life. They need to come the right way or stay in Mexico. If they want a better life in Mexico, then they need to fight against the Mexican government for a better life.
