try covering the eggs with a pyrex glass top. It traps the heat and causes the top to cook. You might have to cover it towards the end of cooking so it doesn't cook through too much on top. Good luck!!!

To make you perfect sunny side up you need to have an egg. Then you use a nonstick pan. Then you add a little oil in the pan. Turn on the stove to meduim (if it is too much heat you will quicly overcook the egg, if it is too little heat then you will take a very long time to cool the egg. Wait till the oil get hot.( You know when it is hot when you put you hand NEAR the bottom of the pan, if it is hot then you are ready. Crack the egg into the pan. Leave it inside till you see the white parts all cooked, but the yellow. Then you use you spatulla ans flip the egg. Let it cook for like 40 sec. Then turn off the fire. Last you eat the egg. Enjoy.=D

My daughter's grandma always put a little oil in the pan. She cracked the egg right into the pan, let it cook and then splashed a little of the hot oil with a spatula over the top of the egg. This way the white would cook a bit more without flipping. Doing it that way, is not a true "sunny side up" egg, but hey, it worked for her family!

Actually, your question has already been answered. With 'sunny side up', there is always going to be a little slim (as you call it), that's the name of the egg - Sunny Side Up. However, if you want over easy or a basted egg with the film over the yoke opaque, follow the diections of covering with a Pyrex lid, adding a couple of tablespoons of water or basting toward the end of cooking with the oil or grease in your pan. Here, adding a tablespoon or two of water will give some additional liquid to spoon over the yolk of the egg(s) you are cooking. Be careful with your basting or you will overcook the yolk.

As long as the egg white is cooked thoroughly, it is perfectly safe to eat. I primarily eat sunny side up eggs and I have never gotten salmonella. As for a casserole using sunny side up eggs, that might be kind of difficult. I'd just pick a general breakfast casserole recipe and top it with Hollandaise sauce. It is a pain to make, but delicious and worth the effort if you like the taste of egg yoke.

sunnyside up eggs will always be slimey on top. Thats only because you do not flip them. Over easy, however is really close to sunnyside up eggs, they are just flipped over for a few seconds just to get the slimey part on top gone. The yoke inside will still be runny.

After it's cooked to the point you feel it's done, then add a couple tablespoons of water to the pan, and cover...cook for one or two minutes...should come out without slimy top...

keep splashing the butter over the top as they are cooking...also I flip them over just a little to assure the slimy is gone...if the white is no longer slimy then I know the yoke is ready...
