USING COOLER WATER WILL HELP, HOT WATER JUST INTENSIFY'S THE DANDRUFF. I'M A VIDAL SASSOON CERTIFIED HAIRSTYLIST. PANTENE USUALLY SHOULD BE O.K., MAYBE YOU NEED TO SWITCH UP SHAMPOO'S AND MAKE SURE TO THOUROUGHLY RINSE OUT SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER.. I ALSO HAVE BLACK HAIR SO I KNOW HOW THAT GOES, IT SUCKS.. I HOPE THIS HELPS A LITTLE.

Brush your hair!! If you have a natural bristle brush that's great but any brush will do. Brush it in different directions, for a whole hundred strokes. (One stroke means one long sweep all the way from root to end.) Use a brush with fairly stiff bristles, your scalp should tingle but not hurt. Do this before you wash your hair, every time. After or during your shampoo, massage your scalp to increase blood flow.
Good luck.

Try Neutrogena T-Gel, it's only about $10 at Wal-Mart. If that doesn't work, get a shampoo with tea tree oil in it.
