The term we always used for them was "Chem-Lites." Didn't matter what color or where they came from. The color of them is dictated by the color of the plastic tube that the liquid is in.

You should be able to find them at most outdoor/sporting good stores, possibly a military surplus store, and even Wal-Mart.

Here in NZ I think they're called cyanolume sticks. They're widely available in shops and they're useful in civil emergency kits, along with candles and a torch. They're useful as a replacement for a torch where there's flammable vapour and you don't want sparks. They get their name from the colour of the light they emit; cyan, or blue-green.

Glow Sticks (not sure of brand names)

You can find them at wall mart also under hunting supplies.
They are incredibly useful, we were really creative and used them all the time when I was in!

Cyalume sticks. You can get them at camping stores too. They come in a variety of colours and sizes and you can order them from www.amazon.com as well.
