how long do you not wash your hair when dyeing?

I was wondering how many days do i go -not washing my hair when im going to dye it? Is it 48 hours? Thanks

i think it needs some oils, but it depends on how greasy your hair gets after one day. and I don't think it really matters. u just don't want it to be wet from washing it when u go to dye it. make sure it's dry and brush it out before u do it. and then use plenty of conditioner to hydrate your hair afterwards.

Do you mean before coloring it? I think it is 24-48 hours. Assuming you shower in the morning one day, do the coloring after work or in the evening the following day. That should be fine. A professional may tell u that if differs depending on temp or perm color, etc....Check with a salon or pro. cosmetologist. Good luck!!

its one day. but you can dye it by washing it the night before and the day of you dye it in the afternoon that way your hair will have some of its natural oils back. the oils keep the dye from damaging your hair.

It's on the box usually...but it's 24 hours....if not on the box it's somewhere in the directions. And they say to wait this long so a little dirt builds up and doesn't strip your hair of it's natural chemicals (or something like that...lol).

considering i always bleach my hair & then dye it immediately after the stripping process (meaning i have washed it immediately before coloring), i would say u don`t necessarily have to wait any certain period of time...

before colouring i think its actually 2 or 3 days, and you can wash it as many times as you want, as often as you want after colouring =)

i don't know what you actually suposed to wait but i do know that i never worrie about it i usually wash my hair today and die it tomorow and it's always fine. Good luck:)
