No, most of the winners played quick picks.

There is really only two good strategies to follow in the lottery:

#1. Only play when the payout exceeds the cost. This means if you were to buy every possible number combination and were guaranteed to hit (because you purchased all the numbers) - your winnings would exceed the cost of purchasing all the tickets. This situation DOES happen once in a while.

#2. Pick some numbers over 31. Many people pick numbers below 31 to associate them with certain dates on the calendar (like birthdays). This means more people are picking numbers below 31, so the odds are higher that you'll have to split a big jackpot with them. Therefore, pick numbers OVER 31.

Most people who hit big are not using strategies - but that's because the majority of people who play don't use a strategy. You need to compare apples to apples...I'd bet that the average person who uses a strategy, does better than the average person who doesn't.

Don't gamble more than you can afford to lose!
Keep all of your losing tickets, you can use them at tax time to offset any winnings.
Use quick pick or play your own numbers, some people write down the winning numbers in order to predict which numbers come up the most (it doesn't work).

it's all luck. but you can't win if you don't play. i only buy 1 ticket a week. (only 1 set of numbers can win at a time) i figure if i'm meant to win i will.
