As some of the unbelivers suggest, I was a drug addict, a drunk, I couldn't keep a job, every car I had i wrecked it etc.

When I said that's it Jesus I am sorry for what I have done and let him make my decisions I got sober, kept my jobs, stopped wrecking cars and started being a much better person.

SO THAT IS WHY WE LET THE LORD LEAD US HE KNOWS WHERE HE IS GOING AND WE DON'T. So don't you think it is better to let the Lord do our thinking?

Absolutly! I"m so proud for you. God is good all the time if people would only realize what their missing out on. If people would only submit to God's plan for their lives they'd see how much better their lives could be. Kudos for changing your life around. You should feel a great sense of accomplishment. Don't ever let the devil take that away from you. Praise the Lord!!!!

You weren't thinking for yourself then and you aren't now. This is so played out. Jesus is doing it for me. Wake up, no one can do anything for you. You have to do it yourself. Its all you! You just happened to be listening to your addictions. What makes you think that religion isn't an addiction. What makes you think that you aren't addicted to your emotions. If you were a true addict you have surely been to rehab a couple of times. They teach you that your body has cells with receptor sites on them. The drugs you use use the same receptor cites as your emotions. So guess what, You an emotional junkie, like it or not. Don't feel alone, you have 75% of the population on your side. I know this really sucks, now you have so much more to recover from. And you thought you were all done. Good luck.

Been there, done that for 19 years. Know where you're coming from. One difference. In life (my own) I do as Jesus said to do but with that confidence "I" do the foot work and he does the "steering." So I don't know if that involves only letting him do the thinking, as I think that being drug free and alcohol free for 22 years now it's been a 50-50 relationship.........

They seem to think we were all born in a pew at church. Atheists assume we've never experienced autonomous thought. They never entertain the idea that maybe we've actually tried their way, and didn't like it.

Most of them couldn't say the same about "our way" (God's way). Too bad they don't "taste and see that the Lord is good." To those of you out there: before you pretend you have an "objective opinion," you really should try God. See the other side. Then decide.

What a Wonderful testimony Wisdom!!!

Re; So don't you think it is better to let the Lord do our thinking?
We have been given a brain to use; so The Lord wants us to do our own thinking, make choices, learn etc
He will never dominate us!
But I would ask God that He would lead and guide me in all I do and say.

Wow its sad that people think that you need faith to be a good person and lead a good life. I used to be a Christian, I was very serious about my faith. I left for many reasons and I'm now an Atheist. I'm not a drunk, not a pothead, so far I had one traffic ticket and I went to driving school for it, I go to work and am able to keep a job.

Why is it that people think that you need a deity to "do" life. Besides I've realized that I've always done life on my own, all those hard times that I thought "god" got me through, well, it was me who got myself through them all. Not some deity.

Honestly, how can god think for you? You're the one who is living with yourself. Not even god can control your thoughts, your mind, your actions. All your victories and faults have been accomplished by you and no one else.

No.God gave you a brain so to think for yourself. You thought it would be a good idea to give your misdeeds to Jesus and ask forgivness - and you got back 10 fold what you gave up.
Why would you expect God or Jesus to do your thinking for you? If we were supposed to be lead around like a flock of sheep we would only be able to think like sheep. Keeping God & Jesus as your life guides should be enough to help you through the trials and tribulations of this lifetime. Don't also give up using that brain that God gave you, I think God would be disappointed in you for expecting him to do all your thinking for you as well as guiding your life. Pray on it for a while perhaps the right answers will come to you.

You go boy. That's what I'm talking about. Stand up for what you believe in and know who you are and who He is.

I was right there with you-except for the drug addict- all the way. My life was a mess and now it is more than organized... my retirement plan is off the hook and I know I have a place built just for me. It don't get any better than this.

i been in a sick life before GOD helped me and lead me out of it.Yes we should let GOD do the thinking and just ask him his thoughts and live according to them. The best source being the bible.

GOD loves u so much that he sent his son JESUS to die for u to reconcile u back.

John 3:16 says "For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoso ever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life".Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.

With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.

Most things are just better if you hand them over to God. Remember there are times when the battle is not yours but the Lord's!
