What do I buy? I just spent over five hundred dollars today on a vet bill. I don't like to scrap book and I don't have much money to spend. If you have ever been to one of those parties, what is the least expensive thing to buy? I am going because my co-worker is having it and I think the socializing might be fun. I don't want to back out because I don't want to hurt her feelings.

Bring all the photos of famous serial killers you can download off the net, some of that "glitter glue" you can buy for less than a buck and a bunch of those "Bad Bunny" stickers that say things like "You suck!" and "I've got one word for you: Soap!" and "Were you born a moron, or was there a head injury?"

You'll be the star of the party for sure. And best of all, she'll never invite you again.

Have fun!

Yeah, I went to one once. It was hosted at my sister-in-law's house by one of her friends. It was actually *sort of* fun. We were told in advance to bring several photographs. When we got there, we were provided with one scrap book page and all the borders, stamps, stickers, etc. to make our own page. We used special cutout stamps to make the pictures in cute shapes (I took a picture of my kitty and cut it into a flower shape that framed his little orange face. :)) It was pretty neat. At the end of the party, I felt obligated to buy something (I'm such a sucker.) so I bought the smallest scrap book they had, and some double sided sticky things (for mounting pictures, announcements, etc. on the pages.) It was the cheapest thing they had (I think the total was just under $20) and I STILL haven't done anything with it. I did use the sticky things to post photos, birth announcements, etc. in my sons' baby books, but the scrapbook is still sitting in the original bag collecting dust. :) I believe the party was called "Creative Memories." It was fun, but it's an expensive hobby and you have to have a LOT of time to devote to it.

Don't get sucked in. People who throw these 'parties' expect you to spend some money out of sheer guilt (they provide some snacks and beverages - you end up $50 bucks poorer).

I wouldn't even go - not even for the social aspect. You have better things to do with your time - go to a film with a friend, or dinner, buy a birthday gift for a family member.

This office 'party' buy my crap stuff sucks.

I go to one every month, and it's only expensive if you want it to be. Take some pictures and scissors, glue and construction paper for all they care. Glitter, anyone? Most scrapbookers, if they're your friends, will share to some extent. If you're uncomfortable scrapbooking, ask your friend if you can bring along another activity so you can still hang out.

Just be honest. Tell them you don't have money to spend on it now, and scrap booking doesn't interest you!! My friends always apprecate my honesty!! It's better then going and being in a funky mood!

You just make up scrap books of your photos with little decorative touches .
Visit Michaels and spend about $25 , you are just making it for yourself .

Dont buy anything, its not rude to not buy something there if you go. I think stickers or something would probably be cheapest, or at least have a potential for use. I dont care for scrapbooking either, my mom made me go to her party.

They can be boring, especially when you are not interested in scrapbooking. You can buy some card making stuff, then at least you will be able to use what you spned your money on.
