FIRST IN HONOR OF THE GREAT SANTANA - I WILL TRY TO BE NICER.

LOUIS - W 69 (KO's 55) TF 72 - W pct 96% - KO pct 76% - wins over Schmeling, Baer, Walcott[2] Conn{2}, Sharkley and Braddock - KO'ed by Schmeling and Marciano - #1 ranked puncher of all-time - #4 ranked fighter of all-time
He initiated the "Bum of the Month Club"
America used Joe for propaganda during WW2. When he had tax problems the government could have let him pay like a certain amt of cents on a dollar.

FRAZIER - W 32 (27 KO's ) TF 37 - W pct 86% - KO pct 73% - wins over Ellis{2}, Bonavena, Quarry[2], Ali and B. Foster - #39 ranked puncher - #42 ranked fighter
His fight trilogy with Ali may be the best in history
Won 1964 Olympic Gold medal at Hvy wt
Could have had more fights

Frazier does have a punchers chance. While "Smokin Joe" is pressing the "Brown Bomber" he will be susceptible to Louis' power. I see Louis in a 7 rd TKO.

Somebody said Louis was a small fighter? Joe was about 6'1 1/2" or 2 inches taller than Frazier and weighed usually in the neighborhood of 200-203 lbs in his prime or about 2 lbs less than Frazier. He also had the reach on Joe and had power in two hands not just one as Joe Frazier did. I believe Frazier could endure more punishment than Louis but could he endure what Louis dished out? Louis is the better all round fighter and a much better boxer. Frazier was relentless and aggressive willing to take two or three shots to land one of his vaulted left hooks. Now the Frazier that gave Ali his first career loss was a determined fighter proving to the world that he was a force to be reckoned with and one of my all time favorite fighters but Louis is simply a greater fighter. That does not mean it would be an easy night for Louis but he had more problems against slick boxers than power hitters. This is how I see the fight breaking down. Frazier wades into Louis who stands there with him giving as much as he takes. Frazier rattles Louis with some hooks but Louis counters with vicious right hand counters and hooks of his own stopping Frazier in his tracks. Louis is also implementing his jab and causing Frazier's face to swell as we go into round 10 of a fairly even fight. Louis has some definite marks too and bruises from Frazier hooks. In round 12 Louis is really finding the mark with short crisp punches shaking Frazier up. Frazier keeps firing those hooks but most are now missing because his eyes are closing. With about a minute to go in round 12 Louis lands a combination and Frazier goes down and hard. He struggles to get to his feet before the 10 count as the man certainly had a ton of courage but the referee has seen enough and stops the action with Louis the winner by 12th round TKO. Louis tells Frazier after the fight that he's the toughest man he ever fought! I can tell you one thing, this would have been a fight with a ton of action and drama leaving boxing fans breathless!

Down goes Frazier, Down Goes Frazier! Louis was underrated as a defensive boxer, but Frazier had that left hook that could knock out any heavyweight in any era. Louis would wait patiently and score an 8th round KO. It is an interesting match-up with the styles, but Louis would find an opening and deliver the punches to take Frazier out.

I have to tell you, I love Joe Louis, he and I are both from Detroit and he is royalty where the blogbaba grew up. Still, Joe had some defensive liabilities that left him wide open to a left hook, and Frazier's was the best in the business. Louis had a tendency to throw a lazy jab, and one more than one occasion it got him in hot water with a lot less than Frazier in front of him. The blogbaba's gotta give babyluv a thumbs up, I think Joe would have caught Joe with a counter and KOed Louis. Breaks my heart thinking of it, but it makes sense considering the styles of both and the competition they fought.

Frazier by KO in 6. Louis makes adjustments to win the next two in much the same fashion as Ali did.

Louis wins either by KO or unanimous decision.

Smokin' Joe only knew one way to fight that was attacking his opponent. He virtually no defensive skills whereas Louis was a superb defensive boxer and lethal puncher. Louis had the best jab of any heavyweight ever and an explosive short right. The perfect combination to dispatch a slugger like Frazier.
