That is false. There is more to satisfying hunger than filling the belly. If that were all it took, then you could also eat dirt or rocks. Just try it and see for yourself. I suggest a well balanced meal of respectful proportions along with exercise and rest. Don't forget to rest. Getting a good night's sleep is an important part of health and fitness. It also helps with weight loss.
Malnutrition, starvation, is always a very bad way to lose weight.

If you drink more water you will probably lose weight. It is not a substitute for food--you should definitely not skip lunch!--but you may feel less hungry for snacks if you are drinking lots of water.
An old fitness instructor of mine said that whenever someone asks her how to lose weight, the first thing she recommends is drinking more water.

Water will help detoxify your body and help you eliminate waste but you still need to eat! Of course if u drink water before a meal by the time you eat your stomach will be a bit full... The same can be said if you drink soup or eat a salad before a meal... it helps you later on when u're eating your meal.

If drinking water curbs your appetite where you eat less .. then it will probably make you lose weight. Your entire calorie intake has to come down tho .. to lose weight. Or you burn more calories. I would say .... drinking water over liquids with sugar or many calories would also cause weight loss.

1. Going on an excessive all water diet is so extraordinarily unhealthy..... it's just as bad as not eating, as you get no nutrition/energy out of it.
2. Of course, water has no calories, consuming only water is like eating nothing.
