What you really mean is they don't recognize that the Catholic Church's teaching IS the exact scriptural view! How could it be otherwise? The Catholic Church compiled the Bible for its own use. Do you suppose they included in their own book texts that were in conflict with their own teaching? It's kind of funny really. The only thing Protestants all agree on is that the Catholic Church is wrong - even as they continue to fragment into more and more denominations whose doctrinal beliefs contradict one another on virtually every point. Yet every one of these hundreds of conflicting beliefs supposedly came directly out of the same Catholic book - the Holy Bible!

Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours. (2 Thessalonians 2:15)

The Catholic Church does not use Holy Scripture as the only basis of doctrine. It could not. The early Catholic church existed before and during the time that the New Testament was written (by Catholics).

There were hundreds of Christian writings during the first and second centuries. Which New Testament writings would become official was not fully decided until about 400 AD.

Catholics believe that the Holy Spirit was guiding the early church (and is guiding the church today) to make the correct choices about things like:
+ The Holy Trinity (which is also only hinted at in the Bible)
+ Going to church on Sunday instead of Saturday (which is actually directly against one of the Ten Commandments)
+ The Communion of Saints
+ Which writings include in the New Testament?

Things that are even more modern like
+ Slavery is bad. Slavery is never declared evil in the Bible. This was one of the justifications for slavery in the Confederate States.
+ Democracy is good. The Bible states that either God should be the leader of the nation like Israel before the kings or kings should be the leader, "Give to Caesar that which is Caesar's." This was talked about a lot during the American Revolution.

This second source of doctrine is called Apostolic Tradition.

Do Christians who do not allow the continuing guiding force of the Holy Spirit to make their beliefs more and more perfect, still endorse slavery as Colossians 3:22 commands, "Slaves, obey your human masters in everything"?

We instruct you, brothers, in the name of (our) Lord Jesus Christ,to shun any brother who conducts himself in a disorderly way and not according to the tradition they received from us. (2 Thessalonians 3:6)

I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them on to you. (1 Corinthians 11:2)

With love in Christ.

Sounds like you're dealing with a school that is Protestant. You can fully expect that they will claim that the Church's teachings are not biblical. It's what makes them Protestant. I'd sincerely ask that you consider going to a Catholic School. It will take loads of pressure off you and immerse you more deeply in the Faith.

God bless, and keep strong.

They interpret the texts as being in opposition of the Catholic Church's teaching. I don't know how old you are but you should be furthering your knowledge in your faith. People with just 12 years of Catholic schools who have not tried to learn beyond those 12 years, remain spoon fed Catholics and are susceptible to being led away.
If there is a good Biblical Courses offered by your diocese, try to enroll.
I might add that so many 'know- it- alls"about the Catholic faith, are ex Catholics who never bothered to extend their religious education and learning beyond primary and secondary schooling.

"Catholics belive you have to do their sacraments to be saved that is a lie." Well, your statement is false, but I wouldn't say you're lying. You're just misinformed. The Catholic Church does not teach that one must be a Catholic or receive the Catholic sacraments to be saved. The Catechism of the Catholic Church says:

"Outside the Church there is no salvation"

846
How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers?335 Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:

Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.336

847
This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:

Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience—those too may achieve eternal salvation.337

Footnote 337 is to paragraph 16 of the Second Vatican Council's Dogmatic Constitution on the Church.

Sounds like you're becoming a Protestant.

What's the problem.

The Catholic School will give you a better general education than any public school. You will AT LEAST come out SMART. You will AT LEAST deserve your dipolma and not get it for just being there 12 years!

Have you told your parents the school is undermining your Catholic upbringing? Perhaps there is another school to which they could send you?

probably because if the church is taking things out of context of what the bible says, then it may just be man's rules instead of what God intended?

the important thing is to read the bible and ask God to show you exactly what HE means by the words you read. read different versions of the bible as well, so that you arent 'swayed' by one way of thinking.
