how do china's relationships with other countries compare to the U.S.A's relationships with other countries?

yeah china got enemies all around it.
probably more then US.
China's biggest enemies are India and USA. China will never have regional hegemony with those two in the neighborhood....given that the US has military bases all around china.

The most interesting story I read, that although NATO feared a Soviet invasion during the cold war, two thirds of the Soviet force was along the Chinese boarder. China doesn't have many friends. That's why it's hanging on with North Korea for so long. Almost every country in the world has some sort of trade tariff with China no free trade pacts with them.
I also read the reason the Chinese are weak on foriegn campaigns is that their is no loyalty to China by the Chinese. If China sent troops to Afganistan, for instance, they might not want to go back to China. Even the Chinese government admits this as they have saying Chinese troops went into and took over Tibet on their own. This is probably the main reason its neighbors fear China. 50 million Chinese could walk into a neighboring country just because they can.

China and japan are bitter enemies, one reason is the invasion of china in the 1930's and the millions killed by the japanese, "the rape of Nanking" ( city in china of about 3,0000,000 in 1930s)as it was referred to in the 30s is a prime example, over 600,000 people where killed (civilians) in less than two Months. and the atrocities of japan on China for hundreds of years, those tow have had in in for each other for near a thousand years of bitter , brutal wars. Also Tiawan, remember the time little island the US recognized for nearly 50 yrs and we ignore mainland China, two years ago main land china was threating to wipe out Taiwan (how soon we forget). Also Tibet, back around 2000 or maybe a year or two earlier, China wanted to take over the highest country in the world (geographically not drug high), they put a price on the Dali Lamas Head, they wanted him dead,and all the tibetian monks killed or imprisoned. India and china have no love for each other, nor is there friendship between south Korea and China or Thailand and China. pretty much anyone they share a border with does not like China, or visa versa

China has many enemy's ! The most populated country in the world, besides China is considered an adversary. The country I refer to is India. Taiwan, Japan, and smaller island nations near China, do not consider it a friend.
I believe that relations between China and Vietnam have cooled.
