Hiya.
I have "skunk" patterns in my hair, it is properly called Coon Tails, stripes or Ladders. You probably are calling it skunk pattern because of black & white print, it is now commonly done with blonde or black + a color like pink or blue...To do this all you do is take a sponge, cut it into a thick or thin rectangle, dip it in hair color and then stamp, I recommend doing this for extensions because on your own hair it is much more complicated and tends to run.
And for the leopard pattern, all you do is take some celery and dip the end of it in some hair dye then stamp stamp stamp. Some people make the mistake when doing this to extensions to not wash the dye off, and so the dye looks very yucky and it peels. Even though you are not suppose to wash extensions, if they are human hair you can, use a straightener afterwards.
As for the pics, Dakota Rose (sister of Kikikannibal) has leopard and Kiki herself has the stripes.

You can also find pictures of people who have coon tail & leopard prints by searching "scene kids", they are the ones who usually sport both...
. I first tried to do stripes on my bangs but it came out such a mess, that is why I wear extensions instead, and they are alot nicer lookin as well. You can also find myspace sites and groups that are dedicated to striped hair.
Here are some albums with coon tail hair:
