was it a buffet? The server was probably upset cause she wanted to turn her tables. She still needs to make tips and you have a set check. At some point you are costing her money, so just remember that and tip accordingly. Especially if its not a buffet and she has to keep bringing you more and more. If she is doing the work of a 100 check you should tip her on that, even if it was only a 20.00 check. All you can eat buffets where servers just have to bring your drinks are different, but please remember that it was a server who got to work early to set up that buffet and who is keeping the food filled for you. You still need to tip, just not 20% if you aren't comfortable with it. And not to mention, no offense but im sure a whole football team was pretty obnoxious at an all you can eat place. They were probably just sick of you all being there. You would have gotten a different reaction if you were dining alone or with a family.
