I've finally gotten over doubting reality, mostly. I have my moments, but it's pretty much under control.

However, now I can't stop thinking about dying. Not being dead -I don't know if there's anything after, I don't think there's a way to know, and I don't really care right now- but the actual process of dying.

Hoping I'll just die in my sleep, so I won't have to feel myself shutting down and deal with the godawful knowledge that I am going to stop being. I will simply stop. I wasn't, I was, I won't be.

Normally I deal with it in the way I imagine most people deal with it: I don't completely accept it as real, or really think about it.

I have enough problems as it is with my reality instability and would really like to get over this.

I don't want to start off by going and getting really medicated.

If I can just distract myself that's good enough for me.

I'm 15, my family isn't rich, my sister and I both need expensive medication and my sister is already in therapy. I'd rather not have more medicine in my body and more financial pressure on my family.

Well, that's the strange thing. Normally I don't really care, and I don't want to have any regrets and all that and I don't htink I will.

I have no power about whether I'm born, live, or die. Since I was born I'm going to live and I'm going to die, so I might as well have some fun in between.

Maybe I'm not being completely clear. It's not the actually being dead that scares me. I don't really care.

It's the dying itself. The part immediately before being dead.

As you said death is a natural part of living. It is difficult when you try to be in touch with your own mortality. You also mentioned God's name. I myself do believe in a Higher Power. I have been taught about religion all of my life. You seem to be obsessing about death and are frightened about how you will leave this life and you are not alone. There are alot of people that feel the same. I had a very difficult time when my daddy was diagnosed with cancer and lived for only three months. He and I were very close and I did not deal with it. I ended up with a disociative disorder and would not accept it. Finally I had a pyschiatrist and intense therapy. It took a long time to get through it. I still think about death. Sorry that I got off track. I truly feel that a therapist would be of great value to help you. It is normal to think about death and dying, but not dealing with it could really make you ill. We can't all choose our own death but I do believe that we can change it sometimes. Suicide is definitely not the answer. Hoping to ly down and die in your sleep isn't always going to happen to some but it does happen. I think that life can be confusing and getting an answer is something that will take time with someone qualified to handle such questions. I'm sure you have thought things such as- Why are we here? How did we come to be here? What purpose do we have here? Some people find answers from practicing and believing in a certain religion or belief's associated with one, or some people believe that there is an afterlife and we possess a soul. It is very difficult thinking of our own "not being" but for now we need to think of our existence now and what our purpose is and how we can live up to our own potential, not what someone else believes our potential is. The main thing is to sort out your feelings, thoughts, and fears are with a qualified person such as a therapist or your religious leader if you have one. It will take time but I think that you will feel better emotionally and physically. Also did something happen to make these questions become so intense? If you are concerned with the cost of therapy is, you could see someone at a mental crisis center and they will see that you get the care that you need either free or based on what you can afford. If medication cost is an issue, many drug companies will provide you with the medication that you need free of charge. They will either mail it to you or the doctor's office. You would have the doctor to fill out the proper forms and it will be taken care of. I hope that I have helped some. If you feel more stressed out and like you are so worried please call 911 or a mental crisis hotline. If you need to, go to your local emergency room-they will help you without giving you a bad feeling. If you have someone that you feel comfortable talking with, call them and let them know that you need their help. Take care, the answers you are searching for you can find, it will just take time. I wish you calmness and happiness.

I also have times where i get to think of dying. Come to think of it, i am actually excited of dying, not that i would want it to happen... Perhaps out of curiosity.. I'm really courious of what will happen to me after death. A lot of answers in my head wouldbe answered.

We share the same opinion. I would rather die in sleep. I guess because we wont feel the pain of dying. I'm also scared of suffering before i die. but then, suffering shall soon end. we just have to hold on and believe that it shall soon be over.

sorry if this is kinda long... i hope it helps you...

death is part of life and we cant stop it. dont think too much of it because there's still much in life to worry about. Dying would just come then go...Focus more on the present and what you are doing with your life...ENJOY IT!

Caffsans is right. If you don't already, you should learn about what life is and what the point of it is. There's alot that people miss and it completely makes life pointless and worthless if you just live you life mostly waiting to die. If you learn about God and Jesus, you'll have a reason for going through school / work / stress / whatever, and you wouldn't have to realy care about dying because you'll know what comes next. =)

You have lots of power over yourself. You can choose many choices. To cooperate with those around you, to surrender your will to this, you have the power to believe what everyone is telling you or chuck it. You have the power to help your sister and be there for her. You have the power to make friends and make a difference in their lives for good or evil.

YOu are not powerless. You can even get out of whatever situation is making you feel so helpless. Remember many things are just a feeling. You can choose to walk away from that feeling and do something else.

If you're into reading, I'd suggest Tuck Everlasting. It's a great story and probably will help with what you're going through. It's an easy read, but the themes of life and death are pretty deep.

Well i feel for you cause sometiems i have the same problem... but what calms me down is thinking about a garth brooks song there is one song he sings that has something like him talking about two numbers on a grave stone that everyone knows what they mean but whats more important is that little dash there inbetween... in other words... your going to die when you die... but make your life worth living and it wont matter :)
Make sure when your 90 years old laying in your bed you can say i have no regrets i lived life to its fullest and im ready to go
You have no other control other then what you let yourself believe
Whats living life to its fullest? Walking around scared to die? Or getting out there and living like you were going to die tomorrow?
Think about it ;)

Maybe you're having panic attacks? One of the main symptoms of a panic attack is an overwhelming sense of doom. In other words, you feel like you're going to die. Talk to your doctor about it. There are meds out there that can help.

trying to hold my tongue after reading the previous "read the bible" answer....
Babe, this is a normal part of growing up. Obviously this is something that is really bothering you right now. You need to get over your fear of death. which is hard when you are young. You have your whole life in front of you, so please try and concentrate on that, but if you cant, look death up on the internet, read up on how the majority of people die, what age they die at, and reassure yourself that death is a long,. long way off for you yet. Its late here in the Uk, but if you would like any further advice i would be pleased to give you sympathetic, caring, unjudgmental advice, just email me xx

I have the same problem and to tell you the truth it scares the hell out of me, but you are not the only one to have to go through it, we all have to. I know this isnt what you want to hear. Leave what happens to you to a much bigger person. Plus you don't have enough days in this world to be stressing over it. Everything will be okay. You have nothing to fear but fear itself, as a smart person once said!
