I know what you are going thru. I am also crippled from arthritis but only part of the time I have to use my wheelchair. I'm not old, which makes it doubly hard. I pray a lot. I talk to God just as I would a friend and I feel peace after praying.

God doesn't think you are useless. He needs all kinds of people to do his work. He needs the quick and the slow. He needs the strong and the weak. If you are cheerful and patient when in pain you are witnessing for Christ. God has something special for you to do. Ask him to show you how to serve him and he will.

I crochet things for charity and make little toys for our local Shriner's Hospital and some other things. My work is slow and my stitches aren't perfect now due to Aurthur. But everyone seems grateful for them.

Please send me an email and we can swap phone numbers.Maybe talking to each other will help. I try to keep my spirits up but at times it is rough and lonely. It might be good for both of us.

We can't understand why illness comes, but when we suffer we must still trust in God. I believe God has a plan for everything. God knows your anguish and he wants to surround you with his love.

I am on disability and cannot work myself. No one is useless.

I felt the sameway that you did when I became disabled, but try and focus on the life you have try and do things that you are able.

Volunteer to do some work in a setting that works for you. You have life, a brain and can contribute to society as a whole person.

The only time I feel useless is when I go into the cancer clinic and see the youngsters there who have been struck with cancer and just starting life. That makes me wish I could do something for them, that is a feeling of uselessness.

Look for the bright side, there is always one, just like a night has a day, white has black, rose has a weed, and useless also has giving. Find something to give yourself to, then you will feel better about yourself.
Good luck and God Bless

Just because you are in a wheelchair and have arthritis doesn't mean that you are useless at all. You have just as much to live for as anyone else in this world does.
There is this amazing book you should read. It is called The Body Silent, by Robert Murphy. He was in the same situation, his journey and his views on disabilities and society areeye opening.

No you are not useless at all one bit, because you still have a brain and are still able to think on your own. Also there are many people who are in wheelchairs these days and still do all kinds of things. So in other words you are not useless Mr. . You still have a long way to go in your life. Just think of it this way that if you would be that bad you would have already died by now from all these complications that you have at this time of life. So do us all a favor and Just keep living life to the fullest for also your family too, because they also love you like crazy. There are many things that you can do with yourself although that you are in a wheelchair.

first of all, i'm sorry to hear about your condition, but second of all, and most important, no matter how much you may feel like you lack stuff, you still have a wonderful personality and God loves you and will always protect you no matter what, you may not be living in a normal condition but YOU ARE a human and you are a unique individual, you have something that noone else on this planet has(unique characteristics, no 2 hearts are the same), so keep living your life no matter what and always have a smile on because you are worth everything even though you may feel like you're not. All the best, take care, hope u get better soon and God Bless.

being alive does not require a reason, it is simply a fact.
If you feel useless, and don't like that, I suggest you get off the pity pot and find a way to make yourself useful.
there are alot of productive people in wheelchairs, and a great many more with arthitis that are also productive. Being crippled doesn't make you special, what makes you special is how you cope with it.

Is Stephen Hawking useless? Of course not.

Nor are you. See a doctor to deal with your depression. Pain management is important as well.
