I am jealous of the guys and girls that pull of it but i was wondering if they think of their bodies in fourty years when gravity kicks when they decide on their tattoos.

I Cant stand them at all-Its a HUGE turn-off.
I dont think anyone can "pull them off"
Your body is a work of art in itself. Your arms, your curves, the shape of your face, you dont need any additional art on your already beautiful, unique body and face.

I was 31 when I got my first Tattoo, it includes symbolism of my two children and who I am as a person. I love my ink. In 30 years I am still going to love my ink because it has special meaning to me.

I had to come up with some standards for myself when getting a new tattoo. At this point in my life and yes my career it must be a) meaningful and b) cover-able. I have one on my lower leg and one on my shoulder...when I retire or the world becomes even more accepting of ink I will be getting my inner wrists done.

Eventually there will be more ink on this old bod of mine...Jealousy might not be the best motivating factor, but do what you will... :)

Ok, I can't help myself! I suppose we can never answer this question enough. 40 years from now I'll be 80 - well, let's not rush things...79. Will I care? No - I hope I'm a spry old lady and who knows - maybe I'll still be getting tattoos. We can have a tattoo artist visit a bunch of us at the old people's home that my 13 year old son says he'll put my husband and I in. We'll have walker races and get tattoos that say "Old People Rule" or "I'm not dead yet!".
Seriously - l'm living life in the present. Yes, you have to think about the future, but for me that's my 401k - it's not worrying about what my tattoos will look like :)

I know a lot of people with tattoos that are decades old! They are still cool and if they want they can transform/update them at any time! They are a fun and bad a s s way to remember where you've been in life! I love my tattoos and I don't know if I will ever be done transforming!

I love my tattoos and my husband loves them too. That's all that matters to me. I also have visible tattoos and it's never stopped me from getting a job in my field (I do accounting/consulting). I think highly of people with tattoos because they are not afraid to express themselves. All of my tattoos mean something to me. I don't think less of people without them. Most people I know are afraid to get them. My philosophy is to enjoy life because this isn't a dress rehearsal.

Oh and regarding gravity, my mother is 50+ and got carded for alcohol. Everyone thinks I am still a teenager, and I am in my 30's. I am not worried about wrinkles or saggy tattoos.

I'm not sure I understand what your point is.....Do you worry about what your pale, pasty skin will look like in forty years. Trust me, ink or not we both will look like **** ........Except I will have had the experience of getting and living with my tattoos. The friends I made over the years just because of our love of the art and you will be sitting there with your pale, fishbelly white wrinkles wishing you had a some point in your life sucked up enough nerve to get that pinup tattoo you always wanted on your calf.
So in answer to your question, NO I don't think or worry about it at all.

Rider (Inked and unwrinkled, for now)

A neighbor of mine said it perfectly..."Just as Temples, Churches and any place of worship has beautiful art and stained glass, my body is my Temple and I will adorn it with my art, until others can see the beauty I have inside." I agree to the fullest. My body will be wrinkly and old in 40 years, and if I can make myself love myself more today, I can guarantee you I will still be in love with my old wrinkly body in 40 years. Even if all my ink has blended together, I will be forever adorned with my art. My body will forever be a Temple.

I have 6 tattoos, soon to be 7 and possibly 8. All of the tattoos that I have mean something very special to me. I have designed most of them. The last 2 I will get will be phrases that very much apply to who I am. I just imagine I will be a kick *** granny with tattoos one day!

i am a 25 year old tattooed female and honestly... when i am 65 years old i know i won't have the body of a 25 year old whether i have tattoos or not. bodies change as we get older and tattoos change with the body. i love my tattoos now and i feel like i will love them when i am older too because they are a part of me.
so, yes. we do think about what it'll be like to be old and wrinkly and tattooed and it won't affect the way we live.

The way I figure it is if gravity has kicked in then I'm not gonna want the world to see that anyway.
