Are you taking potassium supplements? If so, why? You should only need potassium supplements if you're taking a potassium-draining diuretic.

If you're taking potassium for any other reason, especially without a doctor's advice, yes, you can get too much. Potassium regulates the heart's ability to beat properly. Too much or too little can get you into trouble.

Are you taking the potassium as a salt to replace sodium in your diet to reduce hypertension?
I dont see how one can take too much potassium, other than in eating plenty of potassium rich fruits.
I think you can eat as many fruits as you like while you have a cold.
