Sounds like a dumb idea, but i think you'll need a power converter/transformer. I believe car battery is Direct Current DC while residential outlets are alternating AC. Then you have to get the right amount of volts. Read your stereo specs. Then the rest is just like in a car except your house doesn't come with holes where the stereo and speakers should be mounted.

You will need to get an AC/DC power supply that is designed for that use. Most any CB repair shop and Truck stops sell them and even Radio Shack may still have them. Contrary to popular belief, they are not 12 volt. You want one that is rated at 13.5 (or more-say 13.8) volts at, at least 5 amps. They are very common to power mobile CB's as base stations. Secondly, you will have to hook both power leads together so that you can power both the memory back-up as well as the acc. switched circuits. You will not be able to get the presets to hold memory if you turn it off for very long, unless you let it run all the time (should draw less than 10 micro volts in stand by) and only turn off the radio via it's own switch while letting the power supply run. Remember, that is also a "bi-amped" or floating ground output so make sure you get the right speaker wire pairs hooked to the speakers (L+& L- R+& R-) if you cross connect them or any wire touches any other or touches ground you will cream the finals!!! Then you will have to have some kind of antena. FM is not that critical and you could just shove a coat hanger in to the antenna connecter, but AM will need something more. An ordinary auto car antenna will work as it compleats both sides of the circuit via it's coax cable and can just be set in an area that gives best AM reception for your location. FM will just sort of come along for the ride.

Well, the power supply is the main issue. Since it is 12V DC you will either need to use a car battery inside to power it, or get a 120V AC to 12V DC converter. This is the best option since you don't want a car battery inside. Get one at radio shack or online.

The speaker leads just hook up as normal for any speakers.

The antenna lead can be connected to an external antenna if you need better AM/FM reception.

That's it - good luck!

First you need the speakers. Get those and then hook them up to the player. you may put them through an amp first. then get a power supply to supply the car sterio. it will probably be 12 volts and a lot of amps. then it is hooked up
