My mom has taken synthroid for at least the last 30 years, and cannot lose weight. I always thought, as she does, that is the reason for her not being able to lose weight. However, the info I've just founds indicates that synthroid can cause weight *loss*.

Having low thyroid will make you gain weight, and so, once you reach normal thyroid, your weight should stabilize and perhaps decrease.

yes. It makes your matablism unbalced if it is not functioning properly.

actually i lost weight ,i have hypothyroidism.
