Terrorism? The more serious problem is people being led away from the true God by a false prophet.

nothing.
Islam means 'a full submission to the One God' & it's been D religion of faith from the very beginning in d creation of man.
it is Not a new religion, & different prophets hav carried diz msg to all their people during different times.
understand that 'muslims' n 'Islam' nowadays mean 2 different tings.
many muslims no longer look 2 d Islamic laws when deciding their actions.
so it's rather moe like 'd impact of d contemporary world to muslims'.
n don't believe evritin u hear on d news either. theyr juz 1-sided views.
Peace~

I'd say, in my humble experience with a family member who spent some years living in Riyadh back in the late 1970s to early 1980s, that and just seeing the violence and madness get worse and worse as time goes by....
That the main impact of Islam on the modern world is that it creates fear. And after fear, a *lot* of resentment, among otherwise tolerant and rational people, towards either Islam itself or towards religious fundamentalists of any sort in general.
It's like this. Have you ever lived next door to a neighbor with a "junkyard dog", that is, one that was trained to be mean, to bark at and attack whatever moved? If you had, you would realize that yes, your first reaction is that you jump and twitch with fear each time that dog snaps that leash tight and lunges at you in spite of there being a fence there, and yes, even in spite of your being on the *other side* of the road when the dog went nutso...
But then after a while you get pissed off. You get angry and start to hate the dog, not just the owner for training the dog to be this way, you actually do start to *hate* this vicious animal that poses a threat to your life and limb every day for no good reason. And you start to have very dark thoughts indeed about how much *oven cleaner* in the dog's kisser it would take to burn its face off....
But I digress. Point is, after hearing a few straight *decades* of "the Great Satan" and about these folks *always* taking hostages and blowing up their own kids and abusing the pissall out of their women....after a while, the fear gets replaced by resentment and if you aren't careful, that resentment can become a seething hatred.
I think I can safely say....I really *do* deeply resent Muslims. But then again, I also resent evangelical Christians for much the same reason--their extreme intolerance drives them to acts of violence and abuse that totally *go against* most of what their faith teaches.
But. I choose to not let that resentment become a hatred, and to make me a threat to other people. Why? Because I am a civilized *human being* like that, in spite of the life I've had to live, and dammit, *someone* has to set a good example and show folks how a *civilized human being* behaves.
Say what you will now, I don't care. ^_^ Someone has to at least *attempt* to do the right thing here. I hope this helps....take care and stay safe.

i would say quite positive. Islam teaches us not to kill our babies, so less abortion. teaches us not to be sexually promiscuous, meaning less std's, less bastard children, less kids who's mom has not a clue who the father could be ( possibly a few leads but nothing definite ). massive focus on the family, which can only be a good thing. teaches us not to dump our kids at some daycare, or dump old family members off at some home, because we are too lazy to do our duty. Islam is a refreshing breath of air. Islam has impacted me personally, I used to be a hater, and say the most vile things about Islam, then I started to learn and read Qur'an, it changed me so much more for the better.

I wonder what the impact of such ignorant statements like those are on the world of contemporary Islam?

Statistically, Europe won an huge muslim inhabitants, which paired against the ecu inhabitants (now diminishing perilously in direction of the a million.3 mark in decline), has became the stability of cultures noticeably, making it achieveable for the 1st time, that the final public of persons be muslim in the subsequent 15 years or so. 5. No significant progression in the realm of technological information, drugs, historic previous, social politics, engineering has been attributed to the muslim custom in the final 250 years. Out of greater desirable than 250 Nobel fee winners, the muslim representation is nil. 6. The quickest transforming into group in the worldwide seems to be the muslim faith. yet this fulfillment, if enormous is deceptive, as a results of fact the fee of killings of muslims against muslims is rather intense between their sects. There look no consensus as to at is" a muslim. wish this permits.
