I have 3 canker sores on my lower jaw at the front part of it. So if I bend down my lip I can see them. I've been brushing my teeth constantly, flossing, and using mouthwash. They've been there for almost 3 weeks and it seriously starting to hurt. I know they are brought on with stress but I didn't have any stress 3 weeks ago. Is it infected? What is your way to get rid of canker sores?

YOU CAN PLACE SOME ABREVA ON THEM WITH A Q-TIP. IT KEEP THEM FROM GROWING SO BIG NEXT TIME YOU FEEL THE ITCH PLACE AN ICE CUBE OVER IT FOR 5 MINUTES. THIS WILL KEEP IT FROM GROWING SO BIG AND WILL DECREASE ITS DURATION.

Rinse once in the morning and once at night with hydrogen peroxide, change out your toothbrush, and use an over-the-counter topical canker sore medication as directed.

Otherwise, drink lots of water, eat lots of legumes (they have a chemical in them that prevents canker sores), and make sure you are getting your 8+ hours of sleep.

It's a virus...try topical meds you can get at the drug store. If that doesn't work it's off to the doc for you.
