I purchased a 110V pump and controller and the controller can be converted to 220v can the pump be? I'd like to go 220V because of electrical cost and heatup time.

Take a look at a plate that is on the motor. It should give you the spec. If it is not there, open up the box where the wire should go. There is usually a connection diagram for 110 and 220 use.

Consult an electrician, or where you bought the pump, but my guess would be no. The motor is designed for a certain range of volts, going over that range will burn it to a crisp, but it'll pump like you wouldn't believe for about 30 seconds.
