can you imagine how messed up the field of medicine would be if we applied the "you can't prove it doesn't exist, so it must exist" thinking to sicknesses and diseases? imagine this scenario:
doctor: johnny, you have invisible warts, i hope you have insurance, because medication is expensive!!!
johnny: but i don't see any warts!!!
doctor: can you prove to me that you don't have invisible warts?
johnny: no...
doctor: here's your bill. pay the receptionist. now if you'll excuse me, i have a five o'clock appointment to check up on a patient with imminent death syndrome.

djmtx, yes i can, because it's part of standard medical procedure not to operate unless an operation is needed. in order to operate on a tumor one must exist. you can't just think you have a tumor. hospitals have this device called an mri. it shows whether or not you have a tumor.

dmantx, yes you're wrong. the doctor must explain to a patient what the tumor looks like. an mri will provide and xray of where the tumor is located. nobody's going to get an operation because they think they need one. and a doctor's decision is usually under the scrutiny of other doctors as well as he patients. think about it. if you were told you had a tumor and they had to cut your stomach open, wouldn't you expect some sort of proof before the doctor's went through with? stop arguing your side. it's pointless.
