Evangelical Christians, are normal people.
you can pass them on the street and never know it.
we hold down normal jobs, and have families.
we might believe different than you, but that does not make us abnormal.

well The biggest difference is that the Christians person is more enlightened and knows where he is going and what is happening in the world. He is far more intelligent and is way above the normal person..
Normal people have to live without knowing the will of God and having friendship and special times with God. Normal people don't have the privilege of having God speak to their heart and the hope of seeing miracles in their life every day.. It is a really great experience being a Evangelical Christian.. 31 years now and happier than ever...

I sure wouldn't want to go back to being a normal everyday person again.. No fun at all.. I am having more fun than I can stand and enjoying life like never before..

What a great question!! As I see it (having experienced the type of person you refer to as "evangelical")--They believe absolutely what their church tells them and do whatever they are told to do. They don't question the authority of the church, and like so many brainwashed sheep led to the slaughter just follow the leader. Is that "normal"?? Sadly; I think that so many people today don't think for themselves and look to others to do that for them.
So what is "normal" anyway?? There are degrees of religion, from athiests to believers who do not attend church to the brainwashed who knock on doors or stand on street corners yelling "Jesus Saves" or something like that.
Over the years, I have come to believe that faith is a personal issue. You believe, or you don't. I also believe that even a person of faith should never take what is handed to them as "truth" as absolute. Question everything. Were there really only 3 wise men? Does it matter if there were 5? Just don't blindly accept what you are handed, take what works for you in your life, and above all use the brain God gave you!!
So I guess that answers your question: an evangelical Christian, in my mind, follows the church rules/dogma without question; but a "normal" person digests the information they are handed, examines it and decides what they should do about it without answering to anybody else but themselves and God and thier conscience.

An evangelical Christian, by definition Christian who believes that they are required to be a disciple of their faith. This means that in their day-to-day living, that they must witness for Christ, and attempt to convert others to Christianity and more specifically their individual sect Christianity.

An average, one will person will not likely have any imperative to have everyone else around them believing the same things they believe in, or attending the same church.

An evangelical Christian is one who believes in the importance of spreading the gospel; the good news that Jesus came to give us salvation by His death on the cross.
As opposed to the average Christian (normal) who has their belief and doesn't share that with others

Independent thought capability. Can live with less than perfect certitude. Don't feel you can buy tickets to Heaven by going to church and being catty. Don't denounce all other denominations as false. Nice. Pleasant, reasonable. Everything they aren't. Oh yeah - and normal people ( if Christian) believe in Christ not Yahwah, and Christ's covenant, not the Jew's claims.

The term "evangelical" comes from the Greek word that means "good news." Evangelism is sharing the good news of the salvation that is available through Jesus Christ. An Evangelical, then, is a person dedicating to promoting the good news about Jesus Christ. Combined, the description "Evangelical Christian" is intended to indicate a believer in Jesus Christ who is faithful in sharing and promoting the good news.

None. The Christian has committed her/his life to following God -- given that 80% of the population of the U.S. responds in a poll that they believe in God, I'd say that makes them "normal" by definition.

Given that the percentage of atheists/materialists is an awful lot smaller than that, I'd say THEY'RE the ones who aren't "normal", statistically speaking.

I'm a "boomer" living in a suburban house built in the 1940s, I have a spouse, two academic degrees, three cats, a job, and a dog, and a tree that needs repairing before it falls onto the neighbor's garage. Seems pretty normal to me...

The Evangelical is missing a few brain cells.

They fill the empty spots with Bible quotes and ship them off to go door to door.

Heaven and Earth
The Christian HOPES for a world that doesn't exist, and the normal person LIVES in the world that does.
