my daughter is 4 & just turned 30lbs (my 3y is 32lbs) needless to say she is TINY. she has always been tiny but eats like a pig. here's what she had for lunch...1/2 bag of shrimp (about20) PB&J sandwich, about 20 grapes & 6 carrots with peanutbutter and a glass of milk. who eats that? not me, only my baby...but then in a few days she won't eat but maybe a PB&J & that's it. my dr. has passed it as growth spurts...i'm sure she'll be fine, but glad your going to the dr. it will help releave your mind. Good luck!!

Growth spurt, Mama. Mine have all done the exact same thing, girls and boys. Just wait until she turns four and has a growth spurt that includes eating 3 meals, 3 snacks and half a gallon of milk a day for three weeks! And then there's the extra long sleeping at night or wanting to take naps during the day, too.
She's fine, just gearing up to grow. I would measure her now and again in a month. She could be gearing up to get realllly tall before she turns four. Most of mine did that, too.
My husband was 6 feet tall by 6th grade and I'm only 5 feet tall now, so we're not sure who's going to be petite and who'll end up tall. All of my kids have eaten more than me at dinner at some point and it doesn't freak me out anymore. Just buy more groceries, keep lots of milk in the house and offer healthy snacks. She'll do just fine mama. She will.
If it will make you feel at ease, take her to the pediatrician. I really think she's just hit a growth spurt and needs to calories so she can get bigger, that's all.
******Relax honey, she's going to be fine!******

There's definitely something going on. It could be the growth spurt but don't chance it. It's a good thing you're taking her to the doctor. Do it soon because excessive appetite is also a symptom of a few different conditions/diseases. Not to scare you because I'm sure there's a good reason for this...but, you always want to err on the side of caution.
Increased or excessive appetite can be a symptom of diabetes, hypoglycemia, a brain disorder, tape worms, and hyperthyroidism. I know you checked for the worms, but it's always best to let a professional check too.
Keep us posted, I'd like to know that she's okay after your visit to the doctor.
Good luck!

My niece would eat like a little pig, then grow like a weed! It was incredible. We figured out whenever she started eating more than usual, within a few weeks she would have a growth spurt. My teenage god-daughter goes through stages where all she does is eat like a horse and sleep, then a couple of weeks later she'll be an inch taller or need new shoes.
Call your peditrician and see what he/she thinks. Its probably nothing to worry about though

I would not be to concerned children do go through stages but to be on the safe side check with the childs doc. my daughter is 2 and there is times she will eat more than me and then she will stop and not hardly eat for days. her doctor said that is normal. if this eating habit keeps increasing then she might a problem not knowing when she is full. but i would say this would be very rare since the eating habit has just started to increase.

Did you say "husbandS"?? You have more than one husband?? Perhaps it is they who are sneaking her food.
Bad daddys.
OK seriously- all 3 of mine went through this at some point in their childhoods. It was usually followed by several inches of growth in a short period of time. I.e. growth spurt. My oldest actually needs to eat more than me every day or he gets ill. I would just keep her fed until other warning signs of illness occur. I really hope she's ok. :)

She's probably just hungry because of a growth spurt.
But if it would make you feel better to get some tests done a blood and stool test certainly aren't risky.

Check her BMI, if it's normal, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Make an appointment with her pediatrician just to make sure everything is good.
