Believing that you can evolve into a God or Goddess is a pagan belief and allows a person to believe that there are other Gods (besides the one and only true God) out there, including oneself, evloving into one. I know of no other christians faith that claims to be christian and beleives that they will evolve into a God, so how can the LDS people callthemself Christian, I know its is their nice attitudes, their no drinking, no smoking, no drug policy, and family oriented ways and no sex before marriage, but none of them except jesus into their hearts or get saved.

Unfortunely all of you who are for mormons never lived as one of them, like I did, whoa, talk about a walk of suicide.

your question is ignorant, at best. that said, hear me out. i am not christian (i'm a pagan) but i was many things before now and my hubs was a mormon once.

pagans are not christians and christians are not pagans, you are right about that. however, i believe one of the ten commandments states, "you shall have no other gods before me." which kinda eludes to the fact that there may be other gods, or if you like, that there may be other things held in godlike fashion. it doesn't state, "you will not believe." but that, "you will not have." check it out.

they do accept jesus into their hearts (the lds you refer to). we have two missionaries that live below our apartment that would love to tell you about jesus, given half a chance. (great guys, by the way, i bake them cookies quite a bit.) there is a pic of jesus in their window and on their door. i also know, from personal experience, that a relationship with jesus is a personal one. no one else can determine whether or not a person is "saved" but that person and christ. it's rather egotistical of you to say such a thing. the lds believe in a prophet that most christian religions do not, and a text that prophet wrote.

and for the last part, which greatly bothers me, i think their beliefs are more along the line of this:

if you are good and follow the rules here on earth (the rules set down by the bible and christian doctrine) that you will attain a god like status and level in heaven. not that you will become a god or goddess. not that you will become god. it's a sort of philisophical, the gifts you will receive, kinda thing. the more good you do and the more christlike you are here on earth determines the level of gifts in heaven.

now that may all go against what you believe. so be it. you are most definitely not god and cannot judge which manner of christianity deserves to be the ultimate path. you can only determine your path to god. it irks me that you have tried to judge another's.

and considering that according to your question you have sinned (thou shalt not call another a fool, lest you yourself be one) i would ask for forgiveness. (aw, you didn't think that passage was just for the actual word "fool" did you?)

i, however, am pagan. and happen to believe there are many paths to the same goal. i think i'll go and have another bowl of soup.

I am a Mormon. Normally, I am not offended by questions here, even when people are just trying to get a rise out of others, but you have no right to criticize my very personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

I have accepted Him as my personal Savior. There is nothing I can do to "earn" my way into heaven. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, to return to Heavenly Father.
I know that His grace saves me.

However, I also know that it does not give me a "get out of jail free" card. I can reject His gift by disobedience and even His blood will not save me if I do not do my best. I am saved by grace, after all that I can do myself.

This is standard Mormon doctrine. Anybody who tells you otherwise is mistaken or lying.

Actually it's not that we can become actual Gods and Goddess, but more that we can inherit God's gives if we are worthy. Pagan? Ummm...no honey. You're wrong. We ARE Christian, whether anyone thinks so or not. So Heavenly Father is the only God I know of. You're probly thinking about the mainstream mormons or something.

And that comic strip about us was stupid and made no sense. What wise guy made that??

We believe in Christ and so are Christians. Why are people so negative to mormons? Look, we believe that there is only one (1) God, we don't believe in any other God or Goddess, if you say we do, may I see your proofs?

Who are you to be judging, uh?

interestingly you're no longer a Christian. a large number of the icons that Christians use have been accompanied from Pagan religions. Why do you think of we bypass to church on Sunday particularly than Saturday that's the sabbath? the reason we switched church day from Saturday, that's the Sabbath, to Sunday is that the Pagan religions went to church on Sunday.

Most Pagans wouldn't count Mormons as Pagans, by a long shot. They're still in the Christian spectrum, even if it IS waaaaaaaaay off to one side.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Galatians 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

What does it mean to you to be an HEIR of God, and a JOINT heir with Jesus Christ?

“The question is sometimes asked, ‘Are Mormons Christians?’ We declare,” says President Benson, “the divinity of Jesus Christ. We look to Him as the only source of our salvation. We strive to live His teachings, and we look forward to the time that He shall come again on this earth to rule and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. In the words of a Book of Mormon prophet, we say to men today, ‘There [is] no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent’ (Mosiah 3:17).” (The Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1988, p. 10.)

I'm Mormon (LDS) and I accept Jesus Christ into my heart as the Savior, and the Lord. He's given us the opportunity for Eternal life with his sacrifice. That's why I consider myself a Christian.

What is this "bashing Mormon's night"??? Get a hobby. What is so terribly wrong with living as Christ did (to the best of our ability) and working on bettering ourselves? I think instead of heckling us you need to be taking a long hard look at yourself. The bible says to "Judge not lest you want to be judged." It also says that you'll be judged as harshly as you judge others. With that in mind, I think you need to rethink some of this. You don't have to agree with us, but you don't need to bash us either.
Have a great day!!!!
