It's Arkansas's State Law to seal adoption records. Thanks for the websites. I was hoping to find someone who knows her. All those sights wants too much money and don't promise anything. I know this is a long shot but i have to try thinks for your input so far. I know my mother didn't seal the papers the state did. My mother's last name was/is Piland. They called my baby Piland. we think that was her last name

Don't know the laws in AK. here's what I did.

I wrote a letter to my biological mother in care of the county where I was adopted. (Milwaukee). In the letter I said that I wanted to let her know that I'd had a good life, was adopted into a loving family, and was grateful to be alive. I told her that if she chose to cut off contact at any time, I would do it. Asked for medical history, too---that's a very good angle.

A month later Milwaukee called and said that they would start the search. The next day we were on the phone. It's all been good since---I call her Sharon and I call Mom and Dad Mom and Dad.

Some things to consider---you've been told that "she doesn't want you to find her." She may have married---she may have told her husband that she was a virgin. You might have been the result of a rape or incest---or simply a very unhappy relationship---she might not want to open her life again to that page.

second, the Mom and Dad who raised you are still Mom and Dad, no matter what. your biological mother should be addressed, respectfully, by her first name.

You may e-me and we can talk on the phone. There is a lot to think about here---Brian

If you know her name you can skiptrace her at the below website. If you really want to find her you may have to hire a private investigator.

My ex-husband was adopted at birth, and it ate away at him for years until he found his birth mom. I tried to tell him it would hurt his adoptive mom if she knew what he was up to, but that did not stop him.

He did finally find her in our county of all places right down the street! She told him she was unmarried and single and not that she did not love him, but knew in her situation she did not have the $ to keep him, therefore put him up for adoption.

I think he finally got closure then, and never contacted her again. He then got closer with the adoptive mom who raised, and cared for him. I guess everyone in that situation really is looking for closure. If you get the same thing once you find her she may have another family now, and you may get rejected as they may not know about you.

You really have to take all of this into consideration. It may be best to leave it alone sweetie.

Have a good evening.

Go to the town you were born in and research their newpaper, old telephone books, and old high school year books. You may also try going to the hospital, a nurse might still be working there that was working there when you were born. They may be able to help you. Good luck.
