You mean horse shoe kidney. No child should have to be in pain for any length of time. You need to take the child back to the doctor and insist they do something to help relieve the pain. If you can't get satisfaction, see another doctor. Hopefully he is on continuous low-dose antibiotics. It sounds as though he has a kidney infection and needs to be seen again. Hopefully he is seeing a specialist.
