Of course you have the right to honk at the other driver. The other driver also has the right to flip you off in return, and then call the cops with your license plate number because you're being such a dangerous jerk. While there's no law against you being rude, there are lots of laws against exceeding the speed limit and creating an unsafe situation for lots of innocent people.
The proper etiquette in this situation is to not get anyone killed. Everything else is secondary to that. Slow down, fool.

Being cut off is one of many elements that you should expect when you are speeding and this is why...the on coming driver may have judged your speed to be what most people usually do on that particular road. This is one of many reasons why street racing is so dangerous and leads to devastating accidents. Although you may not have been exceeding the speed limit by much, it still can make a difference. You should also be aware that there are some people who just plainly are poor at judging their turns. So, to answer your question, while it may not be 100% correct to place the blame on you, if there were an accident, and you were found to be speeding, the blame of the wreck would be on you.

Everyone hates traffic, I am right OF COURSE!!
Then SLOW POKES should stay out of the left lane!!! Now if someone is making a legal turn from the left lane this is the exception.
Otherwise, as a general rule UNLESS you are passing people, get over on the right! When in the left lane take care of business and don't take 10 minutes to pass one car and get back to the right. and don't worry about how fast others are going! Holding those up that want to pass only creates a dangerous situation and TRAFFIC.

Nope. Speed limits are there for a reason.
Doctrine, the left lane is NOT for speeding. So, no you do not have the right to honk at someone making a legal turn.

No, I don't think so. I don't think you ever have the right to honk of someone makes you slow down, unless they are slamming on their breaks right in front of you.
If you are a good driver you should be able to predict the action you will have to take well before you have to take them. Unless its going to cause an accident, keep your hand off the horn...you just look like and over stressed moron that cant control their anger.

When you honk at someone that is not doing anything wrong, you run the risk that that person is a nut case and will come back after you. Besides, you shouldn't be speeding.

nope...you were right not to honk....i cannot stand it when i am going down the interstate in the slow lane, and then i will get in the left lane to pass a vehicle, the speed limit was 75, i was going 79...so i was speeding, too, but i was not about to go faster than that.....this truck comes up behind me and is so close that i can see the guys face and he is laying on his horn!!!!!
you know what i did, i slowed down even more, because my daughter was in the backseat and if we were going to wreck, we were going to do it slower....i got back behind the other vehicle in the right hand lane because this guy was OBVIOUSLY in a big hurry, and was going to do anything he could to pass us....
i saw him pulled over a couple miles up the road and about laughed my butt off :)

If you were in the left lane, yes. You have no right to speed in the right lane. Slow drivers need to stay home or take the bus.

Absolutely not. The person turning wasn't doing anything wrong, legally anyways, from what you say.
