Fluent Spanish Speakers--your help please!?

Question

Please do not answer if you will just go on an online spanish translator....
I had to write sentences involving the present subjunctive tense.

1. What's the differences between quizá and quizás? When do you use which? I know they both mean perhaps, but when do you add the 's'?

2. How do you say it (the test) was very difficult? Fue or era?

3. How do you say it (the bird) FLEW AWAY? El pájaro....voló?

4. I want to say: I still have more than one hundred pages.
I wrote: De todos modos tengo más del ciento páginas...
Doesn't seem exactly right...

5. I'm trying to say: I don't believe that school ends the seventeenth of June because that is Sunday --I believe that it ends the twentieth of June instead.
I wrote: No creo que la escuela termine (remember I'm using the subjunctive) el diecisiete de junio porque es el domingo--creo que termina el veinte de junio al contrario...
Something is wrong, right?

According to the R.A.E (Real Academy of the Spanish language):

1. Both are the same thing, and have the same use...

2. Fue=Simple present perfect of "ser" verb (to Be)-without entailment with the present
Era= past imperfect of "ser" verb (to Be)-Time that indicates an action or a state of simultaneous things to a moment previous to the moment at which it is spoken...

the most correct is el exámen fue dificil

3. Is rigth to say : el pájaro voló

4. the rigth way is: todavía tengo mas de cien páginas.

ciento is like hundredth.. you have to put other part to make it a ordinal number like 124 would be ciento (1) veinticuatro (24)

5.don´t need to say "al contrario" to the end... well, the all sentence in rigth way would be:

No creo que la escuela termine el diecisiete de Junio porque es domingo--" en lugar de eso", creo que termina el 20 de junio

Look "en lugar the eso" is like the instead. go better put in the first in the second part of the sentence, to unite the two ideas

De todos modos, tengo más que cien páginas.
or (depending on context)
todavía tengo más que cien páginas

No creo que la escuela termine el 17 de junio porque es sábado. Creo que termina el 20 de junio.

2. fue, because it was only difficult for a limited
time, while it was in progress! Now it's over.

3. voló. Yes, preterite of volar.
Remember the old song: "Patita, patita"?
El pato voló y la pata tambien
y nunca jamás a los dos encontré.

4. De todos modos= anyway, or at any rate.
I'd say Todavía tengo más de cien páginas.
When used as an adjective, ciento is shortened
to cien.
5. How about esa fecha cae en domingo = That date
falls on Sunday?
al contrario= to the contrary
Instead= en lugar de eso and this should come
first to tie the clauses together.
So I would render it:
No creo que la escuela termine el 17 de junio
porque esa fecha cae en domingo--en lugar
de eso creo que termina el veinte de junio.

2. El examen fue difícil. (it is over and done with)

3. El pájaro voló.

4. Aún tengo más de cien páginas ...

5. No créo que la escuela termine el diecisiete de Junio porque es Domingo -- En cambio créo que termina el veinte de Junio.
