If you are using sunscreen, can you still get a tan? I dont a sunburn, but i want a tan. Why else sit in the sun, right? Well, can you tan when using a sunscreen? Also, which is the best SPF to stay burn-free and get a tan if in fact you can tan when using a sunscreen.

Yes, you can get a tan while using sunscreen!
Sunscreen is used to protect your skin from from the sun's harmful radiation, and it reduces sunburn and other skin damage. Nevertheless, sunscreen is used to moisturize and maximize UV exposure and tanning, rather than block it, so you get your tan while protecting your skin !! :)
The SPF you use depends on your skin color, but you have to use at least SPF-15 if you're going to be exposed to the sun for a SHORT period of time, and at least SPF-25 if the exposure time is LONG.

Yes you can tan with sunscreen on. I'm a lifeguard, and I don't go into the sun without at least 15spf. I always manage to get a great tan! Happy sunbathing!!

Of course! Always use sunscreen, because if not you could get skin cancer if exposed to too much sun! I use SPF 25 or 30 to get a tan.

I don't think you can tan with sunscreen.
But if you tan during the hours of 6 am and 8 am, you can build a gradual tan with minimal sun damage.
Ask dermatologist first. But gradual tans can protect from sun damage. Just don't tan after 11 o clock am and 5 pm, that is when sun rays are most powerful even if cloudy outside.
