HIV is a virus, and it causes a disease we call AIDS. HIV stands for human immune virus. It is associated with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. We tend to confuse the virus with the disease, but they are not the same thing. You can have HIV antibodies and not have AIDS. However, if you have AIDS, you also have HIV.

Any feasible HIV within the blood will probably be useless. So will hepatitis. Wash the shirt and relax. Whether it is blood, a soak for a couple of minutes in ammonia will make it wash out. It is going to look darker to start with because it soaks, but it will wash out properly.
