That is such baloney. Of course you can brush wet hair. In fact, it will avoid tanging which in itself would cause more hair to get yanked out.

Wait until it dries, it will make you lose much less hair.
I don't know if this goes to others as well, but I have really wavy thick long hair so after a shower my hair is super wet and it doesn't dry for the longest time... maybe like 2 hours!
It also is SUPER hard to brush out when it's wet.

You can brush your hair when it is wet, but you are right, your hair when wet is more damagable and breakable so if you brush your hair when it is wet, lots more hair will come out than if you wait till it dries. A trick to soft hair is to apply a vitamin oil in your hair when it is damp and overnight, wrap a silk bandanna and in the morning, when your hair is dry, it will be soft and shinny.

Brushing your hair when it is wet will cause damage -split ends, breakage etc.
Have you ever seen a hairdresser use a brush to untangle wet hair? NOPE.
Use a detangler and a widetooth comb.

I find putting a comb throw it when it is wet...then if no tangles,
I brush my hair so it dries naturally without frizz or knots.
I only brush slightly thou.
when my hair is all dry...then I brush it thoroughly.
Also I use Frizz-ease on my hair....my hair itself is not frizzy at all. It just gives my hair a glow and brushing it, the hair does not come out as much as with a dry brush and dry hair.
hope this helps.

Do not use a brush on wet hair. It will damage it. Use a wide tooth comb through wet hair to minimize damage.

brushing your hair wont skinny it till you're brushing so greater or less which you're pulling your hairs out. healthful hair basically stretches to approximately 30%, not 50%, till now it breaks. brushing your hair while moist basically reasons a lot of chop up ends and could in basic terms reason a huge headache bcos you will often choose hair cuts. dont brush your hair moist, it is not a reliable theory

I've been brushing my hair wet since i was a little girl, and my hair is still thick, shiny, and wavy (although i sometimes straighten it). The only thing i know of that does my hair wrong is cheap shampoo. I use either garnier fructis or herbal essence, both work wonderfully.

Wet hair tends to break easier than when it's dry. You could follow your regular shampoo with baby shampoo to get the knots out then use a flat comb through your hair to get it straight and detangled. Just use it slowly, nice and easy.
