I guess it's not really sentimental...but I would suggest basketball tickets! It would be really fun and would create a good memory for the two of you.
I guess you could also attach the tickets to a sweet poem or something.

Get him something to remind him of your first date, your first romantic encounter, something to make him think of your relationship in a romantic way.
Also - work on your grammar! And don't be in a huge relationship rush, you're young and have all the time in the world. Enjoy life!

wow, thats kinda tough, i'm not sure either i've had this problem a couple times....try getting him a collection of something you know he likes or....buy a camera and go out to a basketball game so you'll never forget that day and those moments....

depending how sentimental you want to go....
you could frame a picture of you and im and get it engraved,
you could buy him a keychain/watch/something and engrave it
or just buy him basketball tickets or something.
good luck, buying for guys is hard.

well, talk to his parents. they might be able to tell you more of what he is into. dont get anything like a ball. tacky. but yes, i do agree with the other guy, a jersey might be nice. but like the other gal said, maby make him a nice dinner. a card would be lovely.
