Ok. So I'm 14, and I'm going to be babysitting an 11-year-old girl and an 8-year old boy this Saturday. I've never met either of them, so I don't know their specific interests. What do you think I can do with them so they won't think I'm patronizing them? I'm used to like, 4 year old girls.

Board games? What else will they both like?

I was in a similar situation when I was 16. I was hired to babysit a 13 yearold boy and a 6 year old boy. Just go with the flow and figure out what they like. You are the babysitter so there are things where you will have to put your foot down. I always got hired back because I would play with the kids and be more of a friend. However, I know when to tell them no and what not. Eleven and eight year olds like to play games. I'm sure they will have board games there to play with them with.

I'd say it's wrong and I also associate it with pedophilia. I mean, at 11, some girls didn't even get their period yet... At the other people who answered the age gap wasn't so big : it's true and I do understand it doesn't make any difference in the case where the guy is 29 and the girl is 21. But you change a lot between 11 and 19, you're living something completely different. At 19, you are an adult, and at 11 you are still a kid, while when you're 21 and dating a 29 guy, it's not the same - you both are adults.

my girl is 10 years old and she loves cds and music, she isnt into board games so much, however, she does like UNO and there is a Bratz game that she plays sometimes. My 10 year old LOVES the Disney Channel, especially Hannah Montana, and That's So Raven...anything to do with Bratz, and anything to do with Highschool Musical, so if you rent that movie, she might like that...those are a few ideas...she is really about the age where she will tell you what she likes, and if you are babysitting at their house, you can really just let them decide what to do...within reason, of course.

Yeah! Board games are an option. Drawing. Movies. Hang out. The eleven year old might be feeling a little old to be babysat. However, girls like to talk. Eight and eleven year olds don't need a lot of entertainment. They have their own interests. Ask them what they want to do

Art activities might be a good choice to keep them busy for awhile. Another idea might be to rent a video (with parents approval) to pass some time or listen to music. The 11 year old might also enjoy doing makeovers with you, because it's at this age that they begin the tween stage. Hope I could help.

My 11 year old likes music, dancing, playing video games and taking walks.Board games are great too, but my kids usually fight when they play them. Just ask them what they would like to do.

try to talk to the 14 yr old like an adult... this is what she thinks she is. talk about music boys but not sex. get the 8 yr old to do arts and craft, make something out of stuff in the house. ie paper glue tubes glitter etc. maybe get the 14 yr old to lead the 8 yr old. you could make masks, cards, use a printer to print their favourite things from the internet and make a book.... good luck honey!
