Get the 6 with the tow package. If you get the four cyl., you will be very, very sorry. Trust me.

MCScrewdriver doesn't understand the question. You cannot tow a pop up with a four cylinder engine. It will be worn out before it's first birthday, and Jeep will not warrant it because you have been towing over the recommended weight rating. Get the six with the tow package. Tell the dealer what you want to do with it. They will make sure you aren't working the Jeep past it's capabilities.

A 4 cylinder would be able to pull a pop-up camper, but not for very long distances and the strain of pulling it up and down hill will eventually wear the motor out. Therefore, I would suggest you get a 6 cylinder. 4 cylinders have been known to have mechanical problems and sometimes are not very reliable, although they are better on gas. The 6 cylinder is a more powerful motor, and would pull just about anything without any problems, both up and down hill. My advise would be to get a 6 cylinder, and its not that much of a money difference.

If you want to tow a trailer get the 6 cylinder, but don't buy a new jeep, get an older model with the 4.0L inline 6 cylinder, they get better gas mileage than the new V6 engines that chrysler is using now. As for power difference go to your dealership and test drive one with a 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder and you will be amazed at the power difference.

6 Cyl is much better than a 4 cyl. More torque. the 4.0 means the displacement of engine in liters. One of the best engines ever used in a Jeep in the 4.0 L in-line OHV 6 cyl, sometimes known as the 4.0 HO. The current 6 cyl used in new jeeps is the Chrysler based 3.7 or 4.0 V6. While these are as powerful as the old in-line 6 they are not as torquey at low engine speeds and therefore don't pull as well in the off-road conditions Jeeps are famous for.

You will need the 6cyl.,the 4 will not have enough power,I pulled a pop up once with my 6cyl. Wrangler and it was not fun.The Wrangler had plenty of power but has too short of a wheelbase so the camper will make the vehicle sway even with sway control.

The six is a better engine in my opinion. I wouldn't tow anything very heavy with a Wrangler.

with rising gas prices, go for the 4 cylender it will save u a ton on gas, but i guess it all depends on what u want to do with it... my bf has a 6 cylender and he pays prolly 3x as much for gas in a month as i do with my 4 cylender
