I am looking for some effective exercises that will take inches off my waist, and also some that will help me to tone my hips and thighs? I already run but is there something also as effective?

Running is NOT always the best excercise. It depends on YOUR body and what YOU are able to do. Running and jogging is very hard on your knees and back, over long periods of time.

Doctors recommend that you get your heart rate up to the 60-70+ percentile range, 3-4 times per week for 30ish minutes.

If you can handle jogging, then it is great, if not, take a god BRISK walk.

The eliptical machines, at your local gym, can give you the aerobic impact of jogging without the physical impact on your knees and back.,

Recent studies have shown that "Interval" training is better than any other type of cardio. An example of intervals would be to warm up, push yourself as hard as you can for 3-4 minutes, then slowing to 40% of your ability, then pushyourself to 80%, and slowing to 30%, doing each interval for 2-4 minutes and allowing a 2 minutes cool down at the end of your time.

Remember, your diet has as much effect on your "waist" as excercise. Guys put weight on around their waist... So be very carb and sugar conscience.

Excercise plus a healthy diet should do the trick for ya!

Good Luck!

There is a lot of emphasis on weight loss and physical appearance nowadays. If you want to drop a few pounds, there are few things you should do to help you reach your goals safely. Once you decide to take on the challenge, you should plan your strategy accordingly. You can lose weight with a little planning and determination The first thing you should do Before embarking on any plan to lose weight, you should first consult with your personal physician to make sure that you are physically able to handle the changes is your lifestyle. This might entail a complete physical and blood work to make sure you do not have any underlying medical conditions that could sabotage your efforts down the line. Once you have been given a clean bill of health, you are ready to start the task of losing weight. Setting up an eating plan that works for you Once you have been medically cleared, you should sit down and write out your plan of action. This includes getting yourself a daily journal where you can write down everything you eat in one day. Sometimes by reviewing your eating habits, you can find the areas that need correcting and address them properly. Replace your sodas and sugary fruit juices with water. Minimize your calorie intake by eating smaller portions every two to three hours. These small changes have huge effects on your ability to lose weight. Make time for exercise The only way to effectively lose weight and keep it off is to add some exercise to your daily routine. Try starting off with a 30 minute walk after dinner two or three times a week. Jump on the treadmill while you watch your favorite show on television or go out and do 30 minutes of gardening twice a week. Physical activity gets your blood pumping and burns calories, making you drop pounds and keep them off. When you exercise, make sure you try to push yourself to do a little more. Do not stop when it gets uncomfortable, as this is when actual weight loss begins to happen. You can lose weight with a little planning and determination. A thinner you is just around the corner.
